It held a large suitcase with room around the sides for small bags. I used it on a 2100 mile trip and it worked as expected. It rained lightly for 40 minutes and the front half was mostly wet outside. After opening the bag I only found a little bit of water at the bottom front which was fine because it's not waterproof. I had everything wrapped in plastic just in case. The only complaint are the 4 straps used to tie it down were a little short. It would be nice if they were longer. I used 2 additional 12 foot tie downs to secure it to the rack and had no problem."
