Get the extra straps for cars without a roof rack!

Reviewed By Laura B (New Port Richey, FL) Reviewed for a 2008 Mercedes-Benz R-Class —2/13/2012 1:32 PM

Unfortunately we listened to the reviews that said how easy the installation was with the straps that come with it, BUT IT WASN'T. We packed our car Christmas night in preparation to leave first thing the next morning. We spent about 2 hours trying to rig the straps they provided and finally gave up and used our own rope. It was more than frustrating. The rope did work though and kept it in place and secure. We did buy the non-slip pad which protected our car. The bag itself held a TON of stuff and allowed us the much needed room inside our vehicle for passengers. I would highly recommend the bag, however, cannot stress enough to pay a little extra and get the straps for cars without roof racks!! It will save you time, headaches and a lot of aggravation!!

Love it!!!!

We used the Thule to help move my son to college. It performed beautifully. Gave us the extra space we needed. We can't wait to use it for our two week trip to the Grand Canyon next year. Extra bonus is that our skis fit in the Thule so no need to purchase a ski rack. Love that!!! Also fast delivery. Perfect! ??

You'll need four hands.

Reviewed By LJ G (New York, NY) Reviewed for a 2003 Toyota Highlander —8/30/2015 10:43 AM

I consider myself a handy guy. I've assembled IKEA bunk beds, hung blinds, built stairs, cabinets. The Sidekick looked like a piece of cake. However, the instructions are in need of another go-round. Make the pictures bigger, Thule!! Also, to assemble the top piece to the bottom piece you really do need another person to help line up the hinges with the attaching hardware. That or turn yourself into The Rubber Band Man. Once the Sidekick is put together things get a tad easier.
