Thule 682 Sidekick Roof Cargo Box Reviews

Great Value

Reviewed By MATTHEW B (Lawrenceville, GA) Reviewed for a 2007 Mini Cooper —11/25/2007 6:20 AM

I ordered the Sidekick on Thursday and it arrived on Monday morning with free shipping! It fits our Mini Cooper perfectly. We just used it on a 1,000 mile trip. Very little wind noise, and only 1-2 mpg reduction in gas mileage (which could be attributable to 4 people and 150 lbs of luggage). I was able to get it to mount to the factory roof rack with the included hardware even though the rails are exceptionally thick (2.5"). We were able to fit 3 fully loaded 24" x 11" x 14" duffel bags plus several winter coats in the sidekick. I would highly recommend this cargo box for smaller cars.

Car Carrier

Reviewed By David K (South Setauket, NY) Reviewed for a 2007 Toyota Tundra —5/18/2016 7:24 AM

Originally purchased this to fly with it from NY to FL to help a friend move home intending to put this on the roof of his Honda Accord. The trip never happened but I am still happy to have it as I plan on using it for family trips on the roof of a Chevy Traverse. It looks good, stores folded up neatly and compact. Beats watching my neighbor always installing, removing & then storing his giant hardshell roof carrier which holds less than this will.

Great quality and Ease to put together

Reviewed By patrick s (CENTENNIAL, CO) Reviewed for a 2016 Toyota 4Runner —5/18/2016 3:09 AM

Came with excellent directions and was easy to put together. All screws are put together using a security hex wrench (an allen wrench that has a female dimple in it with a screw head that is hex with a male part that fits to the hex wrench) which is good for security but slightly slows the process of combining the front and back of the basket together, affixing the wind deflector then affixing the whole basket to the roof rack. But, overall, a simple process.
