ROLA Vortex Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Reviews

Almost Perfect!

Reviewed By Michael T (Woodbridge, VA) Reviewed for a 2007 Nissan Titan —11/23/2014 3:40 PM

This rack is like finding a fixer upper in a high price neighborhood... The unit is made out of steel so in order to prevent rust; all you have to do is a few upgrades and it function/look just a good as the higher priced units... To do so you, just need to replace the screws with #10 stainless and seal the joints where the two halves join together with black automotive RTV type silicone. And you are all set to move in sort of speak....

Thule 682 Sidekick Roof Cargo Box Reviews

A Small Wonder!

Reviewed By Teddy R (Gold River, CA) Reviewed for a 2001 Honda CRV —7/18/2006 10:38 PM

Thumbs up to AytoAnything for shipping it out a day after my order ... for FREE! Though received the box (the cardboard box of course) beat up, and taped all over at one end. Looks like Fedex didn't take good care of it (must be the size of it). Luckily, I only notice a small dent at the top (the cover) of the cargo box. Surprisingly, it can be massaged and came back to it's original form. I read everyone are suggesting that you might need some help in assembling it. I took the challenge and was able to assemble it by myself ... easily. Just follow the instructions, and when it's time to attach the cover, flip the cover up side down and attach the bottom part (with the hinges already attached). The cargo box is lightweight, and easy to carry without help. Having said that, the material used is not something heavy duty. How durable it is remains to be seen. Looks like it can take normal bumps. The design can take a load limit of 75 lbs. Which is the load limit of the OEM roof rack of my 2001 Honda CRV. Attaching the cargo box to the roof rack is easy too, and fits well to my CRV's roof rack. I bought this as an extra storage for my camping gears. As I can't fit everything inside my tiny 2001 CRV. The cargo box served it's purpose. It looks tiny, but it's 8 cu.ft. of storage is suffice. It was able to fit our tent (4-person), 3 bulky earth pads, 3 foldable chairs, tarp, and more. I think it can fit another backpack, but I didn't push it. You'll reach the 75 lb. limit before you even reach the volume limit. It indeed feels flimsy, but I think its capable and won't break that easy. I would say it's aero-dynamic ... as i can't feel any drag. As if I don't have anything attached to the roof rack, can't hear a thing. I say it's a keeper. I just removed it this afternoon as I went to have my car washed. Hopefully it will last long. Either way, I'd still say its money well spent. A low-cost solution for space problems. It's made in USA, and it has a Thule Lifetime warrant

Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier Reviews

Quite ride to the beach!!

Reviewed By Jameson E (Richmond, VA) —7/15/2006 7:21 PM

I bought this to carry my Ocean Kayak Malibu Two ( a wide tandem sit-on-top) and it has been awesome. I 2 1/2 hour drive on the interstate has seen no problems. The straps & rachets hold it tight and steady. We are very pleased.
