It is sturdy, has a nice retaining fence and the tilt feature uses much less space when empty.

After searcing the web for a hitch carrier, I came across the Carpod. There is nothing else like it on the net. I was concerned with lashing items to a convential rack system, but the Carpod eliminates my worries. Works great for hauling dirty items, Firewood, muddy sports equip, Hunting & Fishing Game, etc. The optional locking cargo lid and bag are worth the extra cost. Dave

When I first put it on the sleave rocked from side to side about a 1/8 of an inch. Which when towing with items on it was from side to side was about 4 inches. Talked to costumer service and was told to torque it down more to 75 lbs. Seems like your going to strip the threads but you won't. Works great now. You need to compress the frame to the sleeve for a proper fit. FYI.
