Swagman Upright Roof Bike Rack Reviews

Great price, easy to install

Reviewed By Rowena T (Cedar Falls, IA) Reviewed for a 2009 Subaru Forester —8/4/2011 11:11 AM

I wanted a rack that I could leave the front tire on my bike if I wanted to. Several racks fit the bill but this one looked well made and was a reasonable price. I received my Swagman rack fairly quickly and it installed in just a few minutes. It seems my bike is fairly secure but I've only taken it out a couple of times. It's difficult for me to hoist my mountain bike up on the top of my car on my own, but it's super easy to get a road bike up there. I'll probably one more of these so that I can transport both bikes.

RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Reviews

Tie Rod

The quality and lightness on this thing is great. I love how it looks and fits on my factory cross bars. The only downside is the skewer. In order for you to keep it on locked safely, you have to screw it all the way in, and then readjust it everytime to put your bike back on. Great product though. Highly recommend!

RockyMounts Tandem Mount R4 Roof Bike Rack Reviews

Solid but not secure

Reviewed By Lawrence L (FREDERICK, CO) Reviewed for a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe —9/11/2014 7:55 AM

We mounted the rack with the forks to the rear so we could open the hatchback. The tandem is held very secure. Only issue we have is that the rack and bike cannot be secured. The forks cannot be locked and the rack does not lock to the roof rack. As a work around we purchased Tri-Groove Tamper-Resistant Nuts from McMaster-Carr, including the socket and shipping this added almost another $50. For locking the bike when we stop we add a good cable lock from the roof rack to the bike.
