Thule 682 Sidekick Roof Cargo Box Reviews

You'll need four hands.

I consider myself a handy guy. I've assembled IKEA bunk beds, hung blinds, built stairs, cabinets. The Sidekick looked like a piece of cake. However, the instructions are in need of another go-round. Make the pictures bigger, Thule!! Also, to assemble the top piece to the bottom piece you really do need another person to help line up the hinges with the attaching hardware. That or turn yourself into The Rubber Band Man. Once the Sidekick is put together things get a tad easier.

Extra storage is awesome

Reviewed By VICKI P (UTICA, NY) Reviewed for a 2012 Toyota Highlander —7/6/2015 5:51 AM

I purchased the cargo box, To give us extra space as we traveled. It shipped quick, I ordered on a Wednesday night, I had it Friday morning. Was easy to install and is heavy duty.I also purchased the locks. One trip down it has been great, it holds more than I thought and was able to put 6 very large duffle bags inside. The only issue I have run into is height going into parking garages,so plan ahead for parking. I have been very happy with this purchase, would purchase again.

Thule Sonic XL - Great Fit and Great Quality

Reviewed By Stephen L (West Chester, OH) Reviewed for a 2008 Toyota Highlander —3/24/2015 8:38 PM

Ordered the Sonic XL for my 2008 Toyota Highlander with factory rack and crossbars. I had no problem installing the XL size box on the roof and my spoiler from the rear hatch did not hit the box. I moved my front cross bar to the front of the rack and was able to adjust the hooks in the cargo box so the box would sit as far forward as possible. Had about 2 inch clearance with my back hatch door.
