This was the only rack available for my make/model/year of car, so I have nothing to compare in terms of price or quality, since I have never owned a rack before this one. Installation wasn't hard- but one thing I figure out is to put the rack together inside your house, and clamp the stays to the bar @ the correct measurement, that way when you bring it to your car, half the work is already done. Also, if you have a kayak, my recommendation is to buy 4 blocks of foam with the cut-outs designed to fit over a roof rack, then just use ties to winch it down secure. The bars have a sort of coating on them as well, so they won't scratch and rust. All-in-all I give it two thumbs up, since without it, my sea kayak would probably leave a lasting impression on my little Toyota's roof.
