When you drive 6-7 passengers SUV(with real 7 passengers), that means doesn't have cargo room. I went airport with my wife & daughter to pick my 3 relatives. At that time, It worked really good(6 big luggages with strap.). Also, I recommend this one(4 side cage really good instead of flat).

I got this with the top and the bag. I figure out of sight out of mind and with a couple of locks for the lid keeps honest folks honest. Box holds a lot if you pack it smart. Not sure about 450lbs but enough for my needs. Seems to be well built but will probably rust if you leave it out. Overall 5 star rating.

Our family of five went on a wind surfing and camping trip for four days. We had a tent, sleeping bags, air mattresses, cooking gear, food, an ice chest, two sailboards, three sails, masts and booms, luggage and an inflatable raft. There is no possible way we could've got it all to the campsite in our Honda Odyssey without the car pod. Thank you very much!

I hauled 3 large suitcases and a wheelchair on a back and forth 375 mile trip (about 250LBs). We hit a lot of rough road and the C-Pod held up nicely. My complaint is the Pod was partially assembled wrong by the factory. One side panel was installed backwards. While fixable, it was a hassle and I didnt get one other side panel pins in right, so I had to do it twice. (PLEASE ADD this to your regression testing/QA process).I'd still recommend THe CarPod to others.

I'm surprised at how easy it was to put the carrier together. I will be using it this summer on our long road trips and to the beach. It is very roomy and feels secure when top is locked. My only complaint is fed ex delivered it 930pm with the box wide open
