Thule 867 Tahoe Roof Cargo Bag Reviews

Reviewed by donna g (Apple Valley, CA) Reviewed for a 2011 GMC Sierra — 2009-02-16 08:47:20

Mounted Thule Cargo Bag on Toyota FJ cruiser equipped with stock roof rack. Cargo Bag came with 4 straps for securing the bag to the roof rack. I would feel better with 4 more straps on the sides. First time out we went through a blinding snowstorm. Snow packed up on the front of cargo bag. Our gear stayed Dry, the only moisture that entered was when I opened the bag (my fault). The quality of the bag seems to be excellent. Thanks to AutoAnything Shipping was beyond expectations.

Rightline Gear Sport 1 Car Top Carrier Reviews

This roof top carrier was very useful for carrying my daughter's stuff to a college in Canada. We drove 620 miles from maryland to Montreal. My car(SUB) has roof rail and cross bars. With all 4 straps harnessed, the carrier did not move at all although I drove a little fast between 70 to 85 miles per hour. Hoever, there was a continuous flapping noise coming from extra length of strap. I think I am going to try strong binder clips next time to hold the strap ends. I would recommend this product to friends who need extra cargo space when traveling.

Rightline Gear Cargo Saddlebag Reviews

The pack takes a bit of trial and error when first trying to strap to the rack and hatch door. This is because the pack is huge and when empty can be a bit flimsy. I find it helps to have a workbench or a bumper high table to set the pack on to give it stability when mounting and also to have it half filled to figure out the correct tension. With that in mind, I plan to keep in mounted during my entire trip. Once firmly strapped in, it is a great tote.

Rightline Gear Sport 3 Car Top Carrier Reviews

8 hr drive to and back from Atlanta. The straps wore the cover and even produced small holes in the fabric. I am assuming that it no longer will be weather resistant as a result. I feel the material should be tougher than it is and that if pulled too tight, the straps will wear thru the material after just several trips with this carrier. Left me dissatisfied with the product.
