K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (50-State Legal) Reviews

First week of install and drive

Reviewed By Dave N (Colorado Springs, CO) Reviewed for a 2005 BMW 3-Series —12/24/2010 3:54 PM

Overall, very good cold air intake system. In my M#, install took a bit, but not too difficult. Instructions were pretty spot on. Some angles to get in and tighten and fit were a pain. Instead of a metal heat shield, I would prefer to have a composite heat shield so air stays cooler even when engine is at temp. I would pay for another composite heat shield if they offered it.

K&N replacement filter for BMW 330

Reviewed By Steve M (Birmingham, AL) Reviewed for a 2005 BMW 3-Series —10/6/2008 7:56 AM

This filter was very easy to install. There was really no noticable increase in power. If I had it to do over, I probably would spend the $285 for the K&N performance kit. I paid $46 for the filter with free shipping from Autoanything. That was the best deal I could find.
