The oem filter was thinner than the K&N filter. The way the air box is made and located made it a little difficult to install. I called K&N product information and they helped me understand what was happening. The issue was when I started to close the air box it dislocated the element and pushed it over and then the air box wouldn't close. What seemed like a ill fitting filter wasn't.........it worked great all I did was hold the filter in place with the tip of a screwdriver and close the box.
