K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (50-State Legal) Reviews

rating the kit

Reviewed By Logan C (Lake Worth, FL) Reviewed for a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix —4/20/2008 5:10 PM

The K&N FIPK is awesome. you need to know what youre doing when installing on the 3.8L GM engines(impala, grand prix, monte carlo). once its in and you start it, it has a loud rushing air sound to it..thats normal. but always double check around clamps for proper tightness for any air leaks. ive noticed an improvement in gas mileage. about 1.5 miles per gallon increase. sounds awesome when you're full throttle. all in all a great intake kit!

K&N Air Filters Reviews

Added a little pep to the car.

Reviewed By JAMES Z (Orlando, FL) Reviewed for a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix —3/17/2008 8:52 PM

I noticed a little pep when stepping on the gas. I need to watch my lead foot more often now. It seems to run a little smoother. I wish I bought it sooner. The next car will get one the first air filter change.

Scuffed knuckles

Reviewed By Scott F (Indian Trail, NC) Reviewed for a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix —10/2/2007 4:49 PM

I have only had my filter in for about two tanks of gas but I do believe that I am getting about 10-20% better gas mileage. I do not know about other customers but my filter was a bit of a b@$%h to put in and wound up with scuffed knuckles. I think I am getting more power out of the car as a result of the AFE filter but will follow up later once I put new spark plugs and cables on the car.
