"This was the only product I found on line to protect my leather interior doors. They fit great and don't seem to interfere with window operation. Nice fabric. I would recommend them to any pet owner."

"The Canine Covers Pet Door Shields really protect our Toyota Highlander and Prius doors. The tabs are a little hard to fit into the window, but once there, the shields fit well and completely cover the doors."

"A nicely thought-out product, well-made, and easy to remove and store when not used. I don't worry any more about the door sides getting scratched or marred by an anxious or excited pet."

"I am pleased with the quality of this product. I was using pillow cases that I would push in to the window jam using a flat kitchen knife. These are so much easier to attach and remove. I have recommended these to all of my friends with dogs. I will also purchase again from Auto Anything as the product arrived as promised and the price was below that of other sites."

"I found no problems fitting the tabs of the large size covers into the windows of my '06 Malibu, although they do tend to start working loose if I roll the window up and down several times. (we'll see if this becomes more of a problem, as it is only March now.) They do flap if the windows are all the way down, and I have had one come loose. I agree with other reviewers that it might help if the tabs were longer. Overall they work as advertised, keeping my Lab's slobber and fur off of the inside of my door."

Excellent, hard to find product

"I didn't even know that a product like this existed, but when my husband wouldn't stop complaining about the marks that our dog's toenails leave on the insides of the doors of his cars, I began to search. My search lasted several days, and I finally found this product.
Shipping was extremely quick, and the product is easy to install and relatively unobtrusive (although people sitting in the back have to lift the shield up to get to the door handle). It definitely does what it's made to do -- no toenail scratches on the doors of my new car, which had these put in before the dog rode in it!
I'd read several reviews that said that dogs can easily pull the product out of place, but my Miniature Schnauzer has yet to accomplish this -- it may be a problem with larger dogs, though.
Overall, a fantastic product!"

"When I first put them in place I didn't think they would stay in place. My dog like to look out both windows in back of our car. But since we were in 0 degree weather I had to open and close them when she was at the window she wanted to look out. I opened and closed the windows many times through the 3-1/2 hr trip. The covers stayed in place and never came out. I was pleasently surprised."

Creative revision to pet door shields
Posted on 01/18/2007 by Judith H. (Arab,AL)

"The door shields would not slide down inside the windows of my new car. So I punched holes in the plastic tabs and turned them upward. I bought suction cups that lock on and placed them on the windows. Now I just lock the suction cups in place, slide the canine pet shield plastic pieces over the hooks and let the shields hang down inside the car. Now my doors are protected and my two border collies can ride in the new car. Of course, I bought a back seat cover too and use dog harnesses."

Good product that can be improved

"Only 3 out of the 4 plastic tabs could be successfully inserted into the very tight space between the window glass and the weather seal. For some reason on this vehicle one of the tabs comes in contact with something inside the door and cannot be inserted. Also, the material used for the cover could be a bit heavier."

"They fit into the crack of the optional shade cloth we had installed. I tried fitting them into the window but there was no depth. They are great, they stay on when the window opens and closes, the edge of the cloth catches in the door when I close it, which provides another place for attachment."

"I bought the canine cover to protect my new car's leather upholstry from my sheltie's claws. She would slip on the leather and I worried she would gouge it as well as get it very grimy. I read the reviews that said the fabric was slippery, making it hard for the dog to grip, but thought it would be easy enough to sew something more 'gripable' onto it or even iron on velcro strips. I haven't needed to do that, Gracie slipped at first (she slipped on the leather too)but has now found a way to make it work for her. It works great, stays put but easy to remove if I have a human passenger. I love having the door protectd and Gracie happy!
Thanks!"

"My boxer, Logan, is a big guy who loves to stretch out on the back seat, that is when he isn't leaning on the back door to look through the window. The covers could not have been easier to install, they stay in place and no more scratches or dog hair on the door. Great idea!!"

"Working out very well. Our dog likes to have his head out the window and his feet on door by window. The shields have solved this problem. Very easy to install and remove. I only wish they were a little wider, so that more of the sliding door on our van was covered."

"We have a new Subaru Forester and our affable Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier was starting to lose points as his nails were digging into the door panel material as he enthusiasically greated other dogs during his rides with us. These canine covers, simply put, fixed the issue and now owner, car and dog co-exist on an equal footing...no pun intended. The covers work great. They are are a bit slippery for our dog to perch on...but that is his problem, not ours. Thank you for making this product!"
