I have a boxer and English bulldog. They get so excited to go places and tend to jump all over my door panels. These shields are such a blessing to dog owners. They are pretty easy to install once you get the hang of it.I got the 26" shields for my 2013 Acura RDX and they fit perfectly.I can roll the windows up and down with no problems, and they stay in place even with the dogs jumping on them.No scratches on my leather door panels; thanks to the canine door shields! All dog owners should buy these

The door shields are pretty much as advertised and do their intended job, along with the full back seat protector "hammock" we installed earlier. They do install easily and appear to be very sturdy and of good quality (though after only one week of use). I think they are a bit over-priced for what they are, but all-in-all I'm satisfied, and hopefully will have less fur vacuuming to do.

The top needs a thicker pad so when dog decides to lay his head on the top of the door and the material needs to be so drool can easily be soaked up. Looks little it is holding up well but only have been able to take dog riding two or three times and they were short trips. Place a large thick blanket so she can ride higher in the seat and look out. Wonderful product so far but wondering what is the durability life with a 90 lb. lab going from one end of the seat to the other. See seems to enjoy it keeps her from falling down in the back floorboard when she turns around.

Does this cover the outside of the window? If not, do you have another product because I want to protect the paint near my windows. My dogs love to hang out with their paws on the outside of window.
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 15, 2012 2:16 PM
Hello. This cover stays in place by sliding it between the window and the indoor panel of the vehicle. There are no items that would hang over the side and cover the exterior. Thank you.

Hi - Most cars have factory tinted windows nowadays - my Forester does. Do you mean to say these will not work on these windows? I can see for 'after-market' but otherwise? Please advise - thanks!

Hi Lori, we called Canine Covers and they assured us that the Door Shield does work with factory tinted windows. It's only the aftermarket film tinting that gets damaged. So yes, it's safe for your Forester.

I have a 2012 Honda CRV with tinted windows. I bought a set from a different company only to find out they won't fit if the windows are tinted. Are the tabs thin enough to fit in my car?
Answered by Michael K. — Apr 06, 2012 8:15 AM
Hi Lynette, Canine Covers does not recommend using the Pet Door Shield on doors with tinted windows. Though the tabs are thin, they may scratch the tinting.
