This ski rack is pretty easy to put on and take off a roof rack. The 3 pairs of skis I tried to put on didn't fit as pairs - the bindings were too thick. But it fit all 6 individual skis side by side easily.

I just got back from a week long snow ski trip in Colorado and this rack worked perfectly. I was able to attach 3 skis, 3 pairs of poles, and a snowboard to the rack with zero problems. I am especially happy with the mounting system as it can be affixed to wide aerobar style roof racks.

I have used this rack on one 4-day xx ski trip. It was easy to install and held the XX skis and poles well (both stacked base-to-base and in a single layer). My only issue is that there are 4 pieces that are not connected to the racks (they are to keep the racks locked down when installed on the car), you need to not lose these while the rack is not on your car. If I get motivated, I will drill some small holes and tie these pieces permanently to the racks with some light cable.
