Having purchased a 2016 Tacoma, I was confronted with a new concept of having 2-plastic steering wheel spokes that extended from the air bag core through to and including the outer circumference. This presented a challenge to the driver because the outer circumference of the steering wheel had variable friction due to the dissimilar materials resulting in a clumsy management of turns. The Wheelskins Steering Wheel Cover cured this!

This is my second Wheel skins cover for this vehicle. The first one lasted about 6 years/160,000 miles. The color started to wear off a little I recall it being super easy to stitch on. If you pull the thread tight and create the faux stitches in front of the steering wheel spokes as instructed, it looks like it is the original wheel leather and not a cover. They have a method of reinforcing the holes so that you can pull on the thread super hard and it wont rip. Awesome!

Thanks to constant use, one of the first places in your interior to get gummed up and to show wear and tear is the steering wheel. Even after cleaning, it’s hard to cover up that black hand goo and any wear spots. So what’s a discerning driver to do when faced with the grungy steering wheel? Cover it, that’s what. And, if you’re wondering how to install a steering wheel cover, you’re in the right spot.
