"The installation on my Passat took about 1.5 hours. Nice, tight fit. When first lacing up, it's difficult to get a tight seam, but once you get going it tightens up nicely. I used pliers to go back over and tighten the seam - band-aids on the fingers for padding while threading the needle."

"Tight fit, custom look, great feel. The slight increase in diameter and softer feel added by the leather translates into a sense of greater control on curves. My only criticism is the lacing, however it is probably as unnoticable as can be achieved without a sewn-on grip."

Ford Expedition Wheel Skin

"I must admit that I was skeptical about this product. But since the other stuff on the market was either uncomfortable or just plain junk, I figured that I would give it a try. I purchased this Wheel Skin wheel wrap and installed it. I was very pleasantly surprised that it was very easy to install and it fit like a glove. It matches the interior color so close that you can hardly tell the difference. I like it so much that I will be ordering another for each of my other cars."

Wheel Skin Leather Steering Wheel Cover
Posted on 10/21/2005 by Peter L. - 1998 Jeep Cherokee (Hackettstown,NJ)
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
"When I received my Wheel Skin steering wheel cover from AutoAnything.com (a mere two days after ordering it) I was amazed at how heavily made it was. Don't be afraid to pull the stitches tight as the instructions tell you, as this is the key to a good installation. The thread will NOT tear through the reinforced holes. The instructions were easy to follow and I got a nearly perfect installation. The Wheel Skin leather cover makes my worn steering wheel look like brand new - in fact better than new because it is of much better quality than the factory installed "Leather" wrapped steering wheel.
Also, since the steering wheel is now a little bit "fatter" it is more comfortable to grip, therefore less fatiguing for my hands.
The only caveat is that pulling the waxed thread tight many times gave me a raw spot on the side of one of my fingers. So you might want to wear a work glove on the hand that will be doing the stitch tightening.
It's a great product!
Thanks Wheel Skin and AutoAnything.com."

"This is the second wheel skin I have owned. I had one on a 1982 MBZ that was still in good shape after twenty years and 300 thousand miles. I don't think that brand "X" can make that claim."

"This is my 7th Wheelskin purchase and install. Need I say more...? Ok maybe. The install gets earier every time. I prefer the "X" stich pattern. After installation is complete rub some leather conditioner on it and let it sit over night. Wipe down in the morning. This helps contour the leather and makes it look OEM. Good Luck!"

"Early on I was concerned and skeptical about the WheelSkin not being exact to Honda's original equipment. (It doesn't have the breaks at the spokes like OEM.) HOWEVER, following the "easy to read" instructions I found that the cover went on without a hitch. You get what you pay for. I'm convinced everything else out there would be worthless junk. Thanks."

"I am soooo glad that I picked this Custom Wheel Skin for my 91 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. It looks amazing, feels great, and can never be confused for a cheap universal Steering wheel cover. It not only blends in perfectly with the stock interior but also improves it dramatically. Time consuming but very easy to install. I would completely recommend this product to anyone."

"The wheelskin I got for my VW Jetta looks pretty good. It didn't fit as well around the spokes as I was hoping though. I also got the dual color wuth tan and black and the black thread really shows out on the tan color and shows any imperfections in the holes for threading and any user errors. If I had to buy this again, I would pick a solid dark color to hide some of the imperfections. It does make the wheel a lot easier to grip compared to the slip on covers you can buy."
