"I did realize that I had to stitch it up until I opened the box. I was like, "what the heck Im about to send this back", but once I started it was ok. It only take me about hour to stitch up but I got it on. I lost the needle, its somewhere in my car, before I got started so I had to go to a sewing store to buy one. Other than that I like it."

Wheelskins Leather Steering Wheel Covers - 2001 Buick, Park Ave
Posted on 03/31/2009 by William J. Z. - 1998 Dodge Dakota (Tampa,FL)
1 of 2 people found the following review helpful.
"The wheel cover fit very tightly, formed to the steering wheel quite well and, when tightly stitched, looks very nice.
I beleive the stitching pattern directions lack details and could be improved. At the center post joining sections of the steering wheel(where the cover fits over) a double stitch throught the same cover holes should be used to further tighten and secure the cover to the wheel.
Also, the tension string around the cover was found to be insecurely encased in the leather cover along various sections of about the circumference of the cover;i.e. the leather glue around the string had failed.
All considered, I am well pleased with the product........pending its usefull life"

"I received the Wheelskins cover a couple of weeks ago, two days after I ordered it. I had expected to wait a week or so, but AutoAnything FedExed it for "free." The wheel cover was just as described. The leather looks to be of good quality, and not inferior to the leather of the Audi I had been driving. The Wheelskins cover is for a Prius. It took about an hour and a half to sew it on. It would have taken a lot less if I hadn't made several mistakes in the beginning. Besides, I took my time to make sure it was tight and fit just right. Overall, a very good experience."

"This cover fits perfect and the color match was very close. I printed off the colors and matched them up. Since I was between colors, Auto Anything suggested buyinf both colors and returning the unused skin at no cost to me. I took their suggestion and am extremely satisfied. My wife thinks the SUV looks brand new, and the wheel was the only thing in disrepair. Only took about 1 hour to install!"

"The leather steering wheel cover has been a great purchase. I don't have to put on gloves to get a good grip on the steering wheel. Having very dry hands, it's always a problem in gripping the steering wheel on cold mornings."

"The leather appears to be top quality. Lacing required about 90 minutes. It is important to emphasize that the the leather must be tightened to eliminate any gaps. I used a small hook made from a piece of coat hanger to readjust and retighten areas. Overall the cover now looks and feels "first class"."

"Out of the box it was a good fit. I used a zip-tie to hold it in place while I patiently stitched around, removing it just before closing. The charcoal color is a great match for the wheel and interior. Very pleased."

"The Wheelskin came promptly and installed in minutes. I would have preferred getting 2 spools of heavy wax-thread and 2 needles to be able to do a baseball-stitch right out of the box but I opted for the fast and easy loop stitch and it looks factory anyway.
Looks good, feels great, cost was lowest around. Very pleased."

"I love the finished product. The feel is top-notch, and the look is only as good as your installation! I've got to tell you, though, it took me 4 hours to do this....in a cold car with low levels of light...I had no option here in this lousy Chicago winter. I would order the cover during a warmer month and then install it outside in the light. I enjoy the very pro look of the wheeelskin cover. Just make sure you do these things: high light level, comfortable temperature to install, have the patience to sew it very tight, and lastly, protect the hand you pull the needle with by wearing something like a leather glove. Overall, fantastic product and would definitely buy it again!! Cheers!!"
