Good Shocks for the Price

"The shocks improved the handling of my truck immensely. They do ride pretty stiff, but then they are truck shocks. The reason I rated the shocks low for installation is that the plastic bushings were not installed, and no directions for installing them. I finally figured out that the bushings have to be lubricated to go into the shocks. Otherwise you will not get them installed."

"Needed new front shocks so decided to replace all 4. Installation took around 2 hours, might be less for those that have the right tools. Honestly the improvement I was looking for isn't there. Don't get me wrong, the ride is better than what it was, but I thought it would be a significant change. Also, the rear end of the vehicle sits lower now (about 1 1/2"). Called Skyjacker, and they couldn't make sense if that, or give me an answer. Can't send a used product back so I am contemplating putting the factory rear shocks back on, just to make it sit the way it did before."

"I had previously owned a 2004 Ford F-350. When I first replaced the oem shocks I went with a name I recognized. I won't say which but it rhymes with Mancho..... Anyways they didn't feel as good as I had hoped that they would, maybe okay on aighter vehichle but not a full sized truck. I tried a second brand after about 10,000 miles. This brand name rhymed with Sailmaster. Iiked these shocks at first. Felt a little better than the Mancho's. So why did I replace them? Because after just one winter with them installed, the stainless steel upper became so rusted and pitted that it damaged the seals inside the shock enough that the oil came out of 2 of the 4 of them. Sure lifetime guarantee.... No thank you Mr. Sailmaster. I won't be installing more junk in my truck.
Enter SKYJACKER, I'll be honest. I hadn't ever heard the name before. I know I know, and no I don't live in a cave or under a rock, nevertheless I hadn't. Both of the previous brands I had simply ordered online and slapped 'em in. This time around I figured I better go talk to someone. There was a great performance supplier/installer near home a couple towns over from me, who I had had do some work for me in the past. I generally turn my own wrenches, as I have some serious trust issues when anyone works on any of my vehicles, including my motorcycle, but that's a different review altogether, I told Mike behind the counter at the shop of my two past purchases. He didn't even hesitate after hearing my story, he immediately said, "you should have just bought SKYJACKER's". "oh yeah, why?" he pointed out to the bays in the back of the store, "go ask any of the installers back there what would they use for an aftermarket shock, it's what I have in my own truck, the owner of the store has them in his truck.". So I'm thinking, "ok, sold order them for me" after I put them in the truck the handling improved dramatically. Yeah well dramatically is a pretty non specific term so I'll try to give you something better than that to go on. You know the difference y"

"I put these on all four corners of my 04 Silverado Z71 and noticed an improvement right away. Still having the factory shocks after 82,000 miles it was long overdue for a set. The are great shocks I would recommend to anyone looking for a stiffer ride, and great handling characteristics on and off-road."

"At first I was a little sceptical of the Nitro 8000's, but once I installed them, which took all of 15 minutes, I was completely sold on them! It is a totally night and day difference; they take the hard bumps and bounces with ease, and give my Tacoma a tighter and smoother ride on the road. The installation was quick and easy, but what surprised me the most was the cost!I was expecting a far less quality for the minimal price I paid, but I was way off on my estimation.
You will not go wrong with these babies, and with AutoAnything's knowledge, it makes them that much more attractive"

"These shocks wont have any trouble holding my 305/70/17 tires to the ground, but they are a bit of a rough ride compared to the procomp shocks that came with my lift. the procomp shocks didnt last but 40k miles before the gromets came out. If I had it to do all over again I would have just done a body lift rather than a 4" suspension lift from procomp. 2001 Ford F150 Supercrew. 201056 miles and still going. I am very satisfied with Auto Anything and will continue to buy from them."

"I put these on my 99 tacoma SR5 myself, quite easy as I have the larger p265/75r-15 tires, don,t even have to take the wheels off, took about 1-hour time.Cannot use the metal sleeves as they are not replaceable,1 metric bolt on each end as long as the old shocks come off easy it,s a snap:NOTE= spray a penatrent on a couple hrs prior to the job.I was a bit concerned about the amount of stroke that was left and feared a bottoming out affect, but after install and test drive on some bumpier road and such:ie rr tracks, gravel roads I found the ride to be softer yet firm and muted over the factory shocks.A very good value and worth the investment, excellent quality and would work well off road."

"Great improvement over stock. Great going down bumpy roads. The only reason why i put average for installation was because the front for my truck where alittle tricky cause i have a shock tower. Havent gone off-road yet but im sure it will be a much smoother ride."
