Description

More than two decades ago, Inertia Active Systems shock technology (IAS) sent waves through the auto industry. The first shocks with this terrain-sensing capability were Edelbrock's Performer IAS Shocks, and they remain unmatched in ride quality today.

Built to suit any car, truck, SUV or van, Edelbrock Performer IAS Shocks know the road ahead. Staying rigid on the smooth roads for incredible handling and reduced body roll, these Edelbrock IAS Shocks provide the give needed when roads get rough, too.

Beyond comfort, you can rely on the Edelbrock name for quality. Each IAS Shocks is anchored by a rugged NitroSteel piston rod that outlasts flaky chrome rods. Mono-tube construction, rolled tube ends and Viton seals prevent leaks, while precise robotic welds complete the durable construction.

As the original IAS Shock, Edelbrock Performer Shocks sport a classic red finish with their famous logo. And, your Edelbrock Performer IAS Shocks carry a Lifetime Warranty.

Edelbrock IAS Shocks for a 1996 C4 Vette

"I think I can judge this product...I own a 2000 C5 with three-way shock damping and a new C6. The C4 was feeling pretty dated. BUT, these shocks DO WORK...I swear the car does not rattle and squeak anymore, they are that good."

"Replaced the OEM shocks after only 8,000 miles - the truck would hop around on washboard roads and on the highway. These shocks are great - much better ride and control. Definitely would recommend them. Pricey but worth it."

Edelbrock shocks transform Avalanche.

Posted on 10/22/2007 by Donald H. - 2002 Chevy Avalanche (Hollywood,MD)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Installing the Edelbrock IAS shocks on my 2002 Avalanche has transformed the vehicle. The ride and handling exceed even the way it was when new. The truck is much more responsive when cornering and the body lean has been greatly reduced. All this with no sacrifice in ride comfort, in fact it rides better than with the OEM shocks. I would highly recommend this product."

Posted on 03/12/2007 by Charles M. - 2004 Chevy Silverado (Orange Park,FL)

"I have a Joe Gibbs Silverado that came with Bilstein's on it but they alowed more body roll than I liked. After installing the Edelbrock IAS shocks the body roll was minimal and I still get a great ride. This is the second set of IAS shocks I have had and I knew hoe well they worked. So the decisiln to change them was a no brainer."

Smooth riding

Posted on 03/08/2007 by Amado C. C. - 2006 Chevy Silverado (Del Rio,TX)

"This is my second set of Edelbrock shocks. I've used them on two different trucks. I found them to "hug" the road better than the stock set. First set were still going strong after 10 years on the truck. I feel I will get the same results from this set. I know they aren't suppose to affect the ride but I think they do make for a smoother ride."

Chevy Silverado Upgrade

Posted on 12/26/2006 by Marc M. - 1999 Chevy Silverado (Chatsworth,CA)

"My thoughts are still brewing since the shocks have been on only 3 weeks; but so far the ride seems more stiff than the OEM shocks chevy provided. I was expecting the shocks to deliver a much softer impression especially when hitting potholes and irregularities in the road condition, but I haven't felt that yet. I expect in a few more weeks of driving and the shocks are more broken in, I'll receive a different pov."

NICE IMPROVEMENT OVER STOCK

Posted on 10/26/2006 by Arthur D. - 2005 Dodge Ram (Fredericksburg,VA)

"I HAVE HAD THEM ON NOW ABOUT A WEEK. THE RIDE FEELS A LITTLE FIRMER AND NOT AS MUCH BODY ROLL ON TURNS (THOUGH THE RAM DOES HAVE HELLWIG SWAYBAR INSTALLED) OVERALL THEY DO FEEL MORE RESPONSIVE THAN THE STOCK SHOCKS. MORE TIME ON DIFFERENT ROAD CONDITONS WILL TELL. INSTALLATION WAS EASY AND THOSE RED TUBES WITH THE BLACK BOOTS LOOK GREAT. WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO IMPROVE ON THE STOCK RIDE AND LOOKS."

Posted on 10/09/2006 by Eloise K. (West Nyack,NY)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I expected some improvement, but was not prepared for the extent to which the ride and handling improved! The truck used to need frequent steering corrections, this condition has been cured with the addition of these shocks. The stability seems rock solid now and no more wheel hop on thruway bumps. I've had these in my truck for a couple of weeks now and based on their performance thus far would highly reccomend them to anyone."

Edelbrock IAS

Posted on 09/07/2006 by Gregory F. - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Dardenne Prairie,MO)

"These shocks are a big improvement over the stock Tokico gas shocks on the Limited model, at first thet seemed stiff but after a week or two they smoothed out and absorb the bumps great. The originals seemed to buck up and down alot, where these are firm but compliant."

Nothing Extrordinary about this shock

Posted on 08/24/2006 by Todd M. (Houston,TX)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"2000 Z71 117000 miles, replaced w/ IAS front and rear. Took about 3 hours with jacks and stands. No great instructions on torque for front upper shock studs, but pretty straight foward instillation. I'd say the rides the same, a little stiffer and quicker track, but they should be, they're new and my originals had 117K. Would I buy again, No, i'd go back with the original bilstein for $100 less. I was expecting a much better ride out of these edelbrock's....I'll give them this...they've got good marketing... but the shock is nothing extrordinary."

wow what a change

Posted on 08/14/2006 by Samuel H. - 2004 GMC Canyon (Katy,TX)

"I installed this shocks on my 2004 Gmc Canyon.I have the offroad package which rides pretty good with stock shocks. However what a difference this new schocks make.Better cornering and softer ride on the highway. I dont do much hardcore offroading, but decided to go to an abondoned field and test the offroad capabilities and was impressed with the end results.A little on the expensive side but worth every penny.Should be a Stock factory option and not an after market buy. I would buy this from the dealer if it was availabe on new cars."
