The holy grail of suspension technology is the perfect blend of ride comfort and load hauling capacity. In the past, auto builders had to choose one over the other. Today, with the Air Lift Air Bag Suspension Kit, you get the best of both worlds—a smooth ride and plenty of backbone to haul the heaviest loads.
The secret behind the Air Lift Air Bag Suspension Kit is simple: you control the firmness of the air bags. When you’re fully loaded or towing a trailer, fill them full of air to do away with sag, sway, bottoming out, roll and more. For everyday commuting, keep them deflated for a downy soft ride. Dragsters can also use the Air Lift Leveling System for greater rear-wheel traction at the speedway. With an Air Lift On Board Air Control System, you can even make on-the-fly adjustments as road conditions change.
The Air Lift Air Bag Suspension Kit is custom-made from rugged materials for your coil over or leaf spring suspension. Most installations don’t even require drilling, and all include a Lifetime Warranty.

Very easy to install. I expected it to raise the rear of the car, but it works differently. It expands to fill in the space between the coils making the spring carry more weight. It does exactly what was needed for me to tow my trailer without my lights blinding everyone.

The air bag suspension kit is what I expected. The installation was fairly easy. The quality was pretty darn good. The price was a little more than I expected it to be. I had to make some minor adjustments but, it was not difficult to do. I would recommend it to anyone. Just have to get over the sticker shock.

I installed this kit a little different than the instructions. I had a different kit on another truck and took it off in one peice, so I put everything together on the bench then installed each side complete except for the u-bolts and lower spring brackets. Much easier than trying to put it together undere the truck. Remove the spare tire and it's alot more room to work.

I have a 2007 Titan with a GVWR limit of 13K and a tounge weight limit of 750lbs. I am pulling a Toy Hauler rated at 11K GVWR with a touge weight of 842lbs. Which airlift kit do you recommend? The 1,000 or the 5,000 version? Do you prefer Airlift brand of the Firestone brand? I am installing this myself without the aid of a lift. -Thanks, Josh.

Hi, Go with a 5000 kit in the brand of your choice since they're both great.

If I get this kit do I also have to buy a compressor and an air controller for my truck? I have leaf springs for rear suspension and I really want to go air ride. I liked this kit because of the cost but i do not know if I have to buy more for it to work
Answered by Nathan S. — Jul 17, 2012 3:15 PM
The kit includes the air bags, brackets and mounting hardware. This is a basic kit which will function perfectly. For added convenience, you can add a compressor, tank and controller but they certainly are not necessary.

Hello. The Air Lift 1000 Rear leveling kit will work in an open coil spring suspension. Generally, for load leveling you will use these on the rear of the vehicle. Thank You.

I have a 2005 Ford Deisel F350 4x4. I'd like to buy a 9'10" camper with 2 slides that weighs 3,300 dry wgt. I don't know how much weight the bed is supposed to handle. It's center of gravity is 52". What support is needed? Do I need a kit and controller both? Or can it be adjusted as needed with just a kit installed? Thanks, Sue
Answered by Nathan S. — May 10, 2012 9:27 AM 2005 Dodge Ram
You can install just the kit and enjoy a far more comfortable and stable ride with your camper. Much of the weight of a camper is centered on inside of the bed and directly on top of the frame rails, so you should be fine, especially with an F-350. The benefit to adding a controller and compressor is that you can adjust the pressure in the airbags on the fly instead of manually adding or releasing pressure.

2011 Toyota Tundra Crewmax I would like to cushion the ride without raising the rear of the truck. Have you had any experience with removing a spring leaf and let the air-bag support the weight. Thanks, Chas
Answered by Nathan S. — May 07, 2012 11:20 AM 1997 Dodge Dakota
If your springs are sagging, you may be riding on an overload portion of the leaf which will give a very harsh ride. Even if this is not so, I would recommend leaving your leave springs in place as is and add the Air Lift Air Bag Suspension Kit. The kit will take some of the initial load off of the spring, smoothing the ride and won't affect ride height at lower pressures.

I have the Firestone equivalent on my Dodge to carry my camper. A salesman assured me that ADDS 5000 lbs. carrying capacity. How can that be? I can see an increase due to reducing the dynamic loading on the rest of the suspension/drivetrain, but essentially doubling the carrying capacity?
Answered by ROBERT R. — Mar 07, 2012 1:38 PM 2011 Dodge Ram
I bought this air bags for my Dodge Ram 2007 in order to carry the load of a fifth wheel trailer. I was impressed with the capacity these bags will carry. But as far as 5000lbs no. Even if they could your truck is designed to carry 1000lbs in the box if it's a 1500. The bearings for that truck is designed for that weight. Very good product though, you will be happy with them. Bob..

You could go with the Air Lift Air Bag Suspension Kit for your truck. It will give you an additional 1000lbs of load leveling capacity to compensate for your snow plow.

The Air Lift Air Bag Suspension Kit acts as an overload spring, which will give you a far more comfortable ride while towing your trailer.
