Description

Dune surfers, mud boggers and trailblazers know that the best traction comes from under-inflated tires. While it's fine and dandy rolling over dirt trails on semi-flat rubber, you don't want to pull onto the highway without the right pressure. With a VIAIR 400 Series Portable Air Compressor riding along, you can quickly air up your tires and head on your way.

Just how fast are VIAIR 400 Series Portable Air Compressors? They'll take a 35" tire from flat to 30 psi in under 5 minutes! Plus, they're perfect for inflating water toys, powering pneumatic tools, and blowing up air mattresses.

Every component on a VIAIR 400 Series Portable Air Compressor is rugged. From the stainless steel valves down to the vibration-free diamond plate sand tray, these compressors are built solid to withstand harsh environments. Each one comes with a carrying bag, 3 inflation tips, a 5-in-1 inflator/deflator with an inline pressure gauge, and a 1-year warranty.

"I purchased this Air Compressor for use with my Motorhome since its tire ratings are based on Cold Inflation pressures. How do you drive a motorhome to a location that has 125 psi air and not heat up the tires? My only negative comment about the Viair 400 is the length of provided 12 Volt connection cable. After making connection to the MH battery, its is difficult to reach the wheel positions. The coiled air hose pulls the air compressor mounted skid/mounting plate behind it and pulls the battery connectors off of the battery."

The Viair 400 compressor is great

Posted on 12/11/2007 by Lance M. - 2007 Ford F350 (Sioux Falls,SD)

"This worked great. When running the pump is quiet and certainly would not wake the neighbors. The double yellow lines allow me to reach all the RV tires from the cargo box and the accessories are good quality. The pressure gage reads 5lbs higher when the compressor is running vs not running. Took less than a minute to top off my RV tire from 100 lbs to 110 lbs. Topped off all 4 tires in less than 4 minutes. Nice unit, works well and stores nicely in the canvas bag."

Excellent overall compressor

"Good build quality and plenty of hose to fill all tires without moving the compressor around. It would be better if it had a 12v plug instead of just the attachments for the battery, or at least the option to use one."

Almost Great

Posted on 05/15/2007 by David H. (Westcliffe,CO)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"The VIAIR generally works as advertised. It will take truck tires to 80 psi quickly. However, there are threee problems that should not exist with a quality unit. First, the fittings for the attachments slip off too easily while inflating (very annoying). Second, the guage does not provide proper readings when filling (it tends to read about 5 psi low), which requires a second guage to check the pressure. Third, there should be an alternative power source (AC) that would eliminate starting the vehicle's engine. That said, this is a compact and convenient unit for RVers."

Its a great kit...

Posted on 02/05/2007 by Joseph S. (Santa Cruz,CA)

"We went for a mont long trek across the southwest las summer. I found that I needed a compressor on the trip. Stopped at Kragena, got their top of the line protable, it melted down the first time I used it on my tow vehical. I reasearched and went for the 400p-RV and it works great... The compressor is fast and easy to use and the accessories can be used for everything we take on our camping trips..."

Viair 400P

"I do like the Viair 400P, it has plenty of air for a 12 volt compressor. The only change I would make is with the hose setup, a simple hose with inflator is all that is needed. The unit is lite weight, compact and a nice unit, complete with its own carry bag a nice feature. My primary use is for my Class C motor home, tires and airbags. Would I buy again, sure I would and have recommended it to my other RV friends."
