"The pump and accessories are well made. The flexible hose has an insulated quick release connector and a high quality valve stem chuck. There is an inline deflator that works well but probably isn’t worth the effort to use to release air. The instructions recommend running the engine when using the pump, both to keep from running down the battery and to keep the voltage up. With the engine running, it took about 2 minutes to go from 20 psi to about 37 psi for 265/75-16 tires. The gauge is reasonable accurate though the scale is compressed. I'll still use a separate gauge to set the pressure.
I did remove the metal tray or base. With the base removed, the pump fits in the in the rear storage tray of my 09 Xterra secure and also accessible. I wrapped it in a piece of thin neoprene sheet both for some protection and for a mat to set the pump on when in use. Without the base, the pump sits on either side of the engine compartment with the hose easily stretching to the tires."

"extremely happy with this unit so far. able to take this unit with any vehicle as opposed to an onboard unit. Survived it's first hunting season with flying colors, took care of several atv tires and 2 truck tires one of them a completely flat 35 incher with no problems at all."

"Recieved the compressor right before a holiday weekend. Didn't even have time to unpack it. It's a darn good thing we took it along! We broke an air bag line on the way up the mountain and the truck was bottoming out all the way.
Arrived at our remote camp, broke out the tools and repaired the air line. Pulled out the compressor and kept my fingers crossed that it included everything we would need. Had the truck sitting level on the bags in a matter of minutes. Actually took longer to hook the leads to the battery than it did to air the rear bags back up.
This is a great product that you shouldn't be without."

"the compressor works better than i expected!
it says it is for up to 33" tires.....i have 35x12.5s ,and deceided to try it.
i aired up all 4 tires from 10 psi to 30 psi in just under 20 min. i actually thought it would take longer.
this little puppy does get pretty hot though, but i guess its because its working so hard. it would be easier to manuver if the power cord and air hose were longer.
this is a solid compressor, and does its job very well!"

"Aside from its good looks, the VIAIR 300P compressor is efficient, quiet, and surprisingly smooth. I placed it on the front fender of my Wrangler, and it didn't move at all because the vibration is so well damped."

"The Viair compressor is reasonably light (under 10lbs), quiet enough, and feels like it's built for years of use. It has been used half-a-dozen times so far and each time it's worked flawlessly and quickly. You get what you pay for."

"I was very surprised that this little compressor could pump up my RV tires so quickly. It is real easy to use and the gauge with the release valve is terrific for getting the pressure just right.
