After reading countless forums on the best riding suspension for my truck, I finally pulled the trigger on the OME system. This is the best modification I have done to my truck so far. I kick myself for waiting so long. I can finally go off road and not feel any kind of a axle wrap that the stock rear springs are notorious for. The off road ride is so smooth and the street ride is unbelievable. Call me crazy but I think the cabin is quieter and highway noise is minimized. The lift height is respectable and the rear handles weight well, even off road. Installation took five hours for two guys with only jack stands and impact tools. I was thinking about trading in my 6sp for an auto but now this thing rides like a new truck. Very happy with this system. Thanks OME!

The ride is great on bumpy roads and the extra clearance is perfect for my 32" tires. However, I chose the extra load or stiffer package and unloaded, the front is still lower than the rear by about 2 inches. No problem though as I ordered 2" leveling blocks for the front...

On my truck I saw 3 1/2" front and 4 3/8" rear lift over stock. The ride quality had been greatly improved by this kit. After putting 82k on the factory setup, it's taking a little getting used to. The kit does NOT include the front strut rubber bushings, nor the rear leaf spring bushings. If you live in a salted part of the US, get new bolts for the leaf springs. The sleeve on the bushing seizes to the bolt that holds it in. On my regular cab, with the one peice driveshaft, it now vibrates at 50-60mph upon accel. I'm going to try a 4 degree shim for the rear. Another Tacoma owner had the same problem. The 3 degree shim from ToytecLifts.com wasn't enough. Call them to order it. The shocks will not allow the rear to go as far as the springs allow, but prevent you from needing new brake lines. So far, I recommend this lift. If it wan't for the missing parts, I'd rate it higher.

The Old Man Emu suspention completely changed the ride and handling of my 2011 Toyota Tacoma truck for the better, The lift was perfect with only a slight front end rake which is exactly what I wanted. You will need a coil over spring compressor and the leaf springs only come with the front bushings so you will need to pry the original Toyota bushings from the old springs which is a bit of work and hard to get out or order new ones when you order the suspention which would be ideal. Instalation took about 5 hours and there is no instructions so mechanical knowlege is a must. I am very happy with my choice and would recomend this suspention to everyone.

Overall the system is great. Installation is horrible! The front springs are extra heavy and wont accept most spring compressors. Also the kit comes with NO instructions. If you dont have a winch I wouldn't recommend the heavy front springs, my front now sits over an inch higher than the rear.

I have a 2008 Tundra with the base suspension and the 5.7 engine. The torque from the engine overpowered the base leaf springs and there was way too much flex in the rear end. The Emu kit took care of all that. This system rides great. The truck look fantastic and I get comments wherever I go. The springs haven't settled yet, so I don't know the total lift, but I suspect it will be marginally more that 2 1/2". I love it, and the guy that installed the kit has already ordered one for his truck.

For the heavy load kit which springs are they? the 885s or 886s? I am assuming the light load kit are the 884s?
