The first compressor that we purchased failing at approximately 5,500 cycles. We disassembled the compressor and found that the motor overheated causing the failure. We purchased a second compressor as a replacement and have approximately 12,000 cycles on this test module.

I bought this Firestone Air Compressor because I thought the one on my Tundra had died. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with the old one. The connection to ground was bad. So now I have a spare just in case something happens to the one on my motorhome, which is now 16 years old.

Received unit on time as scheduled. Unit has only been operational for a week, expecting to last longer than the original purchased kit containing same HD compressor which failed just short of 16 months. Upon receipt and inspection found the mounting legs on one side were bent during shipment. Easily straightened for installation. New mounting hardware with the pump would be a nice addition to the other components supplied.

Hey, for the item WR17609284 firestone air compressors, are these compressors good for mount under my pick up truck, I'm looking for something that waterproof, any suggestion?? Use for light truck, motorcycle, atv tires, not something too big.

It looks like they can handle only light drizzle. Under your truck, you could go to the hardware or auto store and see if they offer a water proof type wrap for it. I would say use heat shrink on the wires too.
