Rancho RS9000XL shocks on my Silverado 2500 HD

I love my Silverado 2500 HD but the ride has always been very stiff. I have a very bad back but I need the 3/4 ton with a Duramax for towing my camper. I have set the RS9000XL shocks at 4 for every day. It is very tolerable now. I'll try 6 for towing. They were easy to install although it took me two days to install because of my back. If I had a lift it probably would have only taken about 2 hours or so. It takes about 90 seconds to reset all 4.

I was shocked

The Rancho shocks are very well built and heavy duty, but there dial a ride is very poor quality compare to the overall shock it self there are no actual indication were the dial number should line up no physical indication alignment. Also you buy heavy duty shocks and you get a cheap plastic dial knob. Which is subject to diet and road grime and having to lay under vehicle to adjust when needed .other then that there a great shock installed in Hummer H2-3500 series chassie.

excellent product

2 nd full size truck I've owned, and second set of RS9000X's I've upgraded to. Like the ability to customize ride, takes a long time to truly figure out your preference, first upgrade Rancho sold in-cab controls, put them in but all the tubing leaked within 2 yrs, loved the idea. Wish their was an updated in-cab controller, only could find old discontinued stuff, but haven't called Rancho to conform. Only reason for the 4 star on appearance is you have to put the sticker on the shock yourself.

Looking for a updated and improved ride quality, the Rancho shocks helped tremendously. My truck has 121,000 miles and has been updated with all Rancho shocks and steering stabilizer, I am amazed at the improved ride quality and reduction in road noise.

Overall a good package and a good value. I feel like the proportions of compression and rebound damping are slightly off. Front, not enough compression damping when the rebound is just right. The rear is highly oversprung, since it's a heavy hauler, so no major critique there. The ride when unloaded is good when the rear is turned down to "2" of 9. So, front, low speed damping insufficient, high speed damping too high for good ride quality.

Glad I bought them.

The ride has greatly improved' but then again I was riding on 4 blown shocks. The only thing I do like I that the valves plastic. It looks and feels cheap and fragile. If I don't want to worry about a stray rock or debris hitting it, I will need to fabricate a shield. Over all I like them and would recommend them to a friend if asked.
