The 5100 is a great off road shock coupled with the stainless finish it work great in the north where they use salt on the roads . the stainless holds up well

I researched shocks and decided on the Bilstein 5100's. Fairly easy and straight forward to DIY replace. Just took a 4000 mile round trip from VA to CO, with truck fully loaded and four passengers. All kinds of road conditions. From sub zero temps, to torrential rains, to 75 degrees and sunny. Extremely pleased with the shocks. Ride feels just like when I bought the truck new. Handling in the switchback mountains, over potholes, interstate speeds, and RR tracks was great.

Noticeable change in the way the truck handles the roads around Illinois. dampened the bounce and smoothed out the repeated motions on the lumpy roads. The extra length did in fact give the suspension more travel. I didn't notice and lift from the shock install, but was not expecting any. They look and feel very well made. Very happy so far.

I couldn't ask more out of a shock of this type. They soak up bumps and stop the bounce wonderfully. If you tow/haul heavy or often these may not be for you since they are on the soft side but they are more for the off roader

I did a torsion key lift on my '04 Sierra 2500hd DMax, and it pushed the lower control arms down so much, that the front end would "BANG" on bumps. I upgraded to the Bilstein 5100's, and the ride is totally amazing!! Almost better than stock, and with the Air Lift 5000 Ultimate kit on the rear end, my 40' Fifth Wheel doesn't sag the rear end!! Definitely worth the money and 1 hour worth of time to install all 4!!! Plus, you can't beat the customer service at Auto Anything!!

Very nice ride for my 2004 GMC 2500 HD This is the best this truck has ever rode. Smooths out the ride and still handles pulling a loaded trailer.
