I researched shocks and decided on the Bilstein 5100's. Fairly easy and straight forward to DIY replace. Just took a 4000 mile round trip from VA to CO, with truck fully loaded and four passengers. All kinds of road conditions. From sub zero temps, to torrential rains, to 75 degrees and sunny. Extremely pleased with the shocks. Ride feels just like when I bought the truck new. Handling in the switchback mountains, over potholes, interstate speeds, and RR tracks was great.

I'm not very impressed with these shocks, esp. for the price. They are very rough on bumps and will continue to bounce afterward. If you want to feel every crack in the road, these are the shocks for you, I will not buy them again.

These shocks were a major improvement over the stock shocks. I have much more control and comfort on the road both empty and towing. The off road comfort was improved as well. Overall very pleased, not to mention they look great, you just can't go wrong with Bilstein.

I bought these for light off-road use, and mostly because the roads in my area are terrible. They have done a great job so far (6 mon). Install was very easy as well.

2001 GMC 2500HD 112,000 miles, time to replace original shocks. Research indicated Bilstein 5100 series shocks are the choice, and I agree! When my wife says "I think the truck rides nicer" without being asked anything, thats all I need to say. Also, smooth install, no issues. Great product, would recommend to others.
