Skyjacker Add-A-Leaf Springs on '95 Chevy K1500 full-size pickup

Reviewed By David F (Bloomington, IN) Reviewed for a 1995 Chevy C/K Pickup —1/9/2009 2:14 PM

My '95 Chevy K1500 truck had a "rear sag" look. I didn't want a fancy suspension lift, so I got Skyjacker Add-A-Leafs (2 pieces of bent steel made to fit truck springs). Comes with 2 new center bolts but NOT new U-BOLTS. BUY NEW U-BOLTS, b/c mine were so rusty they broke off undoing them. Installation is hard b/c of the work of raising the truck off axle & doing all the old nuts & bolts. 4-5 hours for me & friend to do both sides of truck (& add 2 new normal shocks). The Add-A-Leaf raised my truck rear 3-4 inches!! (leaving in bottom original leaf) and it looks TOUGH!!!

Hellwig Pro Series Helper Springs Reviews

Good purchase

These helper springs really do help keep the truck level when hauling. The only complaint, is that the bottom piece shifts out from under the top piece after some use. I believe it is still physically sound however, they just don't line up anymore.
