I travel long distances with a load in truck. The normal gas shocks were not enough. These were the perfect solution, even empty the shocks are not stiff. The provide a firm yet smooth ride and provide an increase in stability.

These strut assemblies replaced the original factory struts after 122,000 miles. They were fairly easy to install. On a 2006 Explorer the front upper ball joint nut has to be removed to get the old struts out and the new ones in, but other than that it was very easy. The old struts did not seem that bad, but I did notice one of them had a small leak. The new Gabriel struts definitely improved the ride and "tightened" up the feel of the vehicle. Definitely worth the money.
