Skyjacker Shocks

Reviewed By jonathan r (Perry, NY) Reviewed for a 2002 GMC Sierra —3/27/2009 6:21 PM

I ordered Skyjacker Nitro 8000 Shocks for my GMC pickup truck. The rear shocks are perfect, they fit great, installed easy, and the ride is very good. The front shocks that i received are not correct. Auto Anything has been on top of returning the shocks, with updates everyday. The problem has been with Skyjacker getting a return number and info about the correct shocks. I am happy with the shocks that I have installed, but I am not happy with the incorrect shocks.

The instructions are not very good at all. The entire project took about 25 hours, but I installed it myself. It is a very tedious job and you must have ample patience to take on this task. I suggest getting a case of beer to go along with the install. The appearance is great, but like I said its a long project. One thing I had a problem with was getting the steering extension to fit together with both ends. I used WD-40 and a hammer to get it into place.

inexpensive 2-1/2"

For my Armada, installing the rear coil spacers were much more time consuming than the front strut spacers. (having to deal with the spring compressor, and the fact I had a few bolts practically fused in place) Even with everything disconnected and unlike what the instructions said, I still had to compress the crap out of those coils to get them out and compress even more to get them back in. In the end, it doesnt make the vehicle huge (nor should it), but does help it stand out a little more.
