Gabriel Ultra Shocks & Struts Reviews

a better experience

Reviewed By ronald e (Sanford, FL) Reviewed for a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis —3/23/2015 6:46 AM

I noticed from the start that these were less bouncy as was expected. They covered bump well but were obviously more firm. On better roads they are really SMOOTH and more stable. I replaced OEM on my Marquis....these are better unless one prefers the very soft touch and bouncy. The Gabriels were much less expensive.

Yay corners!

Reviewed By Erik R (WATERFORD, MI) Reviewed for a 2006 Mercury Milan —2/26/2014 8:31 PM

The handling of the car with these replacing the stock springs is like night and day. The car no longer feels like it wants to tip over going around sharper turns at speed. Also makes the car look sportier by lowering it, though because of the way the fender arch is, there's an illusion that the back is lower than the front even though its not. Still, I wish that back springs were a tad longer. Fantastic nonetheless.

2002 Mercury Marquis

Reviewed By Dan K (SOUTH ELGIN, IL) Reviewed for a 2002 Mercury Marquis —6/5/2012 8:34 PM

I found the installation relatively easy considering no drilling or part removal was necessary. One suggestion I would make would be to attach the hose to the airbag before placing it in the spring. Just make sure to thread the hose through the protective disc and appropriate hole above the spring before placing the bag in the spring. I found the first one difficult to attach, using the manufacturer's instructions, once the bag was inside the spring. It might have been easier if I had a lift but I was working on the floor which made the attachment difficult.
