Nice Spring Assist

Reviewed By Seth C (Birdseye, IN) Reviewed for a 2001 Toyota Tacoma —12/22/2009 5:24 AM

My boat tend to sag the rear end of my 2001 Tacoma. These spring assists install above the factory springs and engage when extra support is needed. No more sagging when hauling the boat or loading down the truck with firewood. Installation was easy. With the addition of new Rancho shocks from autoeverything my ride and hauling capabilities are drastically improved!

Nice replacements!!

Reviewed By Yuhwan H (Ellicott City, MD) Reviewed for a 2001 Toyota Tacoma —7/26/2008 11:04 PM

Literally a 'plug and play' unit. I was rear ended at a red light resulting in my right rear tire being pushed forward, bending my stock leaf stack. It had a Skyjacker softride add a leaf. Stock replacement for a Toyota Tacoma 2001 Xtra cab was almost $500. For less than that, I got a 2 inch lift PAIR of leaf stacks and I didn't have to fiddle with putting the add-a-leaf onto a replacement stock leaf stack. PLUS, the ride with these springs is 100 times better than the add a leaf/stock combo. The only thing I had to deal with was grinding/drilling out the old main eye bolts since they were seized to the frame, but what do you expect for a 7 year old truck. Once bolts were out, you just drop out the old, put in the new, and tighten everything. I do recommend you order new shackles and main eye bolts from toyota if you plan to use this application. And if any questions, new U-brackets. I haven't needed any degree shims, unlike the add aleafs. those I needed to use a set of 5 degree shims due to driveline vibrations.

Hellwig 980 on 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Reviewed By Brett B (Huntington, TX) Reviewed for a 2016 Toyota Tacoma —9/15/2017 9:12 PM

I recently installed the Hellwig 980 on my 2016 Toyota Tacoma, as the rear suspension needed a little extra support from the added weight of a camper shell. The 980's completely solved my issue of bottoming out on large bumps and firmed up my ride. The rear end no longer feels saggy. I was surprised by how well the truck still rides. It rides like it did prior to the addition of a camper shell. I highly recommend the Hellwig 980!
