My original shocks were still fine but the leaf springs were sagging so I thought I would try these to improve the ride height. They worked. I measured before and after and the truck sits 1.5" higher now which levels it out. I believe the ride is a little rougher but not enough for it to be an issue. Installation was tricky. I jacked up the rear as much as possible and still had to use a smaller jack to compress the shock the last inch I needed to squeeze them in. They help with a load as well.
Purchased set of front and rear shocks to replace very old (twenty+ years !!!) Monroe Super Magnums. Believe it or not, the Monroe"s were still holding up (no fading or bouncing) but I felt it was time to replace them.I notice a slight improvement in handling with the KYB"s.The only issue I had was with the front shocks and its lower tube bushings. They were slightly too wide and would not fit easily into the lower holder. I had grind them just a bit in order for them to fit.
