purchased kyb self adjust which is oem and when installing them notice that the shock is 3/8 inch shorter overall and 1 1/4 shorter on top mounting stem and gasket is smaller also which was a bummer rechecked the shock part number and the listing is correct so decided to install them today alond with brakes . rotors.bushings and new frame stops wish the shocks could have been closer specs to oem. thx

The KYB Gas-a-Just shocks I purchased for my 2006 Ford Ranger work well, and I have no complaints against them. They were shocks I could afford, and replace the original shocks on my truck. If, I could afford more expensive shocks I would purchased them. I have driven on them for over a month, and there has been no problem.

I bought these after doing some research. I thought twin tubes were better then mono . Just because of the name. I figured these would be the best upgrades I could do and be cost effective. They work great . I thought my shocks were out after 60k and I was right . No more wheel hop at peel outs!!!

Sad the KG5534 is sold with no dust shield! I can't even believe a company would cheap out on something so crucial. This is my second purchase - the first shock didn't even last 3 months before the chrome rod was chipped by road debris, which then wiped out the oil seal, puking oil everywhere. When I received this here replacement, I cut the dust shield off an old shock I had laying around, and threw it on this one. You CANNOT run a shock absorber in the Northeastern USA without a dust shield!
