KYB MonoMax Shocks & Struts Reviews

MonoMax 565076

Reviewed By Anthony H (Manhattan, IL) Reviewed for a 2000 Chevy Silverado —1/15/2018 7:06 AM

Compared to Bilstein 5100 for a 1500 GMT800 IFS these have 1.24" longer compressed length. Bilstien 5100 (12.54" min) are for 0-2.5" lift meaning These KYB's should work with a minimum 1.24" torsion bar lift. Shock travel on the GM IFS is slightly less than wheel travel. 280psi charged makes them a bear to install if you don't retain them with wire in the full collapsed min length.

Air bags

I have install quite a few sets of bags and these are a decent pair, not as HD as convoluted firestone bags. The installation was straight forward and hopefully they will hold up to heavy work load as my firestones do, only time will tell.

FCS Strut Assembly Reviews

Does not appear to be Macpherson shocks in the strut.

Reviewed By Stanley B (Mesa, AZ) Reviewed for a 2011 Honda CR-V —1/13/2018 7:49 PM

My reason for buying the struts instead of just shocks was for ease of installation. Shocks or struts require a spring compressor and partial disassembly of the brake arm and brake line. Not an easy task.
