With the rising popularity of all types of off roading—desert racing, rock crawling, trail busting, etc. truck owners want to lift their rigs and join in the action. This has led to a healthy aftermarket catering to the budding off-roader’s dreams with custom suspension lift kits.
A lift kit is not only needed to smooth out the bumps, they make room for those big tires that any off road rig needs. In the old days, clever truckers would fabricate all sorts of suspension parts to craft their own truck lift kits. The results weren’t always successful or safe. But these days, leading kit makers actually get new trucks from the factory and design complete lift kits specific to them.
That means that Dodge Ram lift kits and Tacoma lift kits are completely different than F150 lift kits, though the result is the same. Pretty easy to install. Seems to be well-built. Gives my truck a true 4x4 look that it was missing from the factory. You will need an alignment after the install. The kit comes with the new camber bolts, so no worries there.

Just had the Truxx level kit installed today, chickened out and took it to a spring shop. They installed all 4 corners in two hours but charged for 3, bummer, it was $251. After watching the tech I conclude i could have done this at home with no problems. Started spraying everything down a week earlier with PB blaster and everything came right apart. Truck looks great, ride is unchanged from stock but don't skip the alingment. I went else where for that and I coould tell on the ride over it needed the alignment. Overall I rate the Truxx level kit a 10 on price, ease of installation and looks.
