"The cover went on easy and looks great. It is a great cover for the price and I would buy it again. (I would suggest they put a 3rd velcro strap in the middle at the cab to keep cover from drooping when rolled up.)"

"Very easy to install. Took less than 30min and I was taking my time. The Neighbors came out and said how nice it looked on our Truck. I really do not think I'll need the bows very much as the fit is very good. I was missing the allen screws and allen wrench from the kit. I think it was lost in shipping. $3 in screws and a trip to OSH. But, other than that we are quite pleased. - AJM"

"THIS BED COVER IS REPLACING ONE OF THE SAME MODEL THAT HAS BEEN ON MY TRUCK FOR 6 YRS AND STILL LOOKED GREAT. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THEY WILL NOT TAKE A DIRECT HIT FROM A MAPLE TREE."

"I wasn't sure how the cover would work on my step side truck. Truth is I could not be happier. The instructions were easy to follow and the fit was perfect with no drilling or mods to the truck of any kind. This cover really adds to the look of the truck. If you have a step side, this is your cover."

"I received the Extang Classic Platinum Tonneau cover a couple days early from what was quoted so I was very happy especially since it came on a Friday. It was only 15 degrees and the wind was blowing when I installed it. The frame went on in just a few minutes without problems. I warmed the cover up by placing it near the water heater then as quickly as possible I snapped it down. I used the "short" position on the snaps and bows. The wind made it more difficult than it should have been but it made a good test as to what it will be like in rough weather. In actual use it seemed a little loose but I can adjust it. The snaps are very good and if you use a rolling motion they seat quickly even though they are tight. The fit was actually perfect just as the instructions indicated. Now for the good part. I have a Dodge diesel dually long bed and I drive the same long trip 300 miles with up to about a 100 miles in-town, it varies, almost every weekend. I get diesel at the same station and I track mileage very carefully (hand calculated). The first trip 75% highway but only 1/2 with the tonneau I got .4 mpg better. There was heavy wind on the highway part. The second trip about 75% highway 25 % in-town heavy stop and go I got .9 mpg better. The third trip 75% highway 25% heavy stop and go plus about 2 hours idling I got 1.1 mpg better!! This trip included a 30 inch snowfall and churning thru drifts with my chains on and driving into a very stiff wind!! To top it off it was the first time I've gotten 20+ mpg with the new ULSD diesel. I had to drive slower and slower is better with the big diesel. These trips were each under different weather conditions but they represent my normal driving. On a normal summer highway drive I can easily see 2 mpg better!! Hard to believe but it's there on paper. I emailed Extang customer service regarding the loosness and had a reply in less than 24 hours. The short story is that they will work with me to my satisfaction. Overall this item is just what I wanted and Extang "

Decent quality, easy installation

"My third one, I just bought an 07 tacoma, and went with the Extang classic, since I'd had one on my previous pickups. My complaints are minor...the snaps require occasional lubrication to operate in cold weather, otherwise they are tough on the thumbs; the other issue is the crossbows on the tacoma are each a differnet length, but they are not labeled, so it means you either come up with your own scheme or figure out each time which one is which. I'd think for the money a pad-printed label should be part of what Extang provides."

Tough to assembly, terrible directions.

"Assembly is far more difficult than stated. I put mine together in 35-40 degree weather so this might affect the fabric of the cover but it required a lot of tugging to get on and it still is not fully snapped in. One corner snap will not go. The directions are terrible. On a two hundred dollar item there should be better pictures to help you through. I can't recommend it and I would suggest spending a little more and getting a tri-fold style."

"Just purchased a new truck, I had the Extang classic Platinum on my first truck for ten years and it is still as good as when I put it on. Not a bit of trouble in ten years. Thats why I purchased the same cover,although the new one has some improvements like the velcro straps and the cross bows that do not slide out. Great product. Steve"

2005 Tacoma

"Great cover. It took me about 1.5 hours to install, but that's mostly because I read everything before I start. I put the snaps on the winter position (they come in the hot weather position), and it still fits tight, even though it's been unseasonably warm in my area. I drove through a major storm and it did not leak (I was surprised). I highly recommend this cover."

"installed easily in 30 min. keeps gear dry in heavy rain at interstate speeds. access to gear is good. as the snaps are loose on the rail, resecuring the tarp is sometimes difficult. fit & trim are very good. i would reccomend it"
