However, we were the owners of another Extang--the Black Max--which was on our Ford pick-up, and we loved it. That's why we didn't hesitate to buy a similar model for our Nissan. "Install time was only one beer's worth. Which is good or bad depends on your point of view. Easy to install. Directions were OK. Looks good on the truck I am somewhat concerned about when the weather is cold and snapping it. Learning to snap the end first then the sides works better."

"I am pretty satisified with the Extang Classic Platinum Tonneau Cover. A couple of things at high speed I get a whistle from some in the back and one time the center rear arch support came loose. May I just have to fine tune the cover? Please let me know if you have any suggestions! Thanks"

"The cover was impossible to snap until the temperature reached 75 and the truck was in the sun. It goes below 0 where I live, so I hope it snaps in the winter. Bolt holes need to be thread chased - there were bits of machined aluminum where the lower half of the clamp installs. Bows don't fit perfectly because clamp bolts aren't recessed into the clamps - some of the bolt head protrudes above the clamp. Overall, it's OK, but I think all the tonneau covers are overpriced."

"Nissan Frontier Pick up 2003. I like it. worth. Truck looks sportier with it on. No need to spend more. Put on when cold. Once it stretchs a little it is easier to open/close."

"Installation was a little harder than anticipated. Fitting the vinyl cover was a challenge. There was supposed to be two settings for the bows and snaps but was only able to manage one. The look made up for all the difficulty. Overall very pleased."

"My extang classic platinum tonneau cover is a very nice product.It's durable, functional and it's nice looking too. I have a bedliner in my 2004 Toyota 4 door P/U and that posed a challenge. The clamps that fasten to the bed, fasten under the lip of the bed. I had to cut out small sections of the bed liner to fasten the clamps, a total of six. It wasn't terribly difficult, just time consuming, as I had no special tools to get the job done. It took a little over an hour to do this. The actual installation was a snap. I highly recommend this product. Great price for a quality product."

"I bought the Classic Platinum for my 2003 Sport Trac. I put it on myself in 45 minutes. I love it, but there is one flaw. I can not get all the slack out of the tarp, and when I drive it is a little distracting. I am trying a few adjustments to see if I can correct it. Other then that, the product is great. Great price, and it adds a great look to my truck."

"After reviewing several soft tonneau covers, Extang gives the customer probably the most "bang" for the dollar. This is my second Extang cover and will definitely not be my last.My prior cover was four years old when I sold my truck and still looked as good as the day it was in- stalled."

Great Cover, but...

"The cover was very easy to install. It fits like a glove. The only problem that I am having with it is that the front rail does not seem to lock into place with the side rails. It pulls apart without much effort. This seems to be a flaw in the design or manufacturing b/c I saw this complaint in someone else's review. It is also rather difficult to button in the winter time, even with the snaps placed in the cold weather position. Overall, though, I am very satisfied with the product for tne money that I saved."

Doubled My Pleasure

"This is my second Extang Cover. In December '05 I installed one on a '93 Ranger. It installed quickly, smoothly, and it snapped easily. Sturdy support braces and the ability to reverse the snaps for winter and summer were significant selling points for me. I sold the truck in March '06 and bought a full size '03 F150. I didn't hesitate to buy an Extang for the F150."
