"The cover is fine, but the latch mechanism needst to be redesigned. It works poorly. I it diffucult if not impossible to line up. Basically I can only get one side to stay latched."

Ford F-150 with bedliner

"The installation was a little more challenging as my truck had the bed liner installed at the dealership. The rails had to be cut down, which slowed the process. I also had to cut some of the liner to make it fit. After about 5 hours, it looks great. The lock assembly is the weakest aspect of the design and manufacture and took me some adjusting to keep it closed. Good eal though and so much less than others."

"This cover looks good and was a great price. It rolls up easily, but the lock sticks most of the time. I love the cover but I don't use it as much as I thought I would because I get aggrevated at the lock. It has improved my gas milage by 3 to 4 miles per gallon, and that's great these days! Over all I am happy with the cover. I am open to any suggestions about how to fix the lock so it doesn't stick so much. Cathy"

"This is my second Roll Top Cover. I had the first one on two different trucks.........I had it on a 1999 Super Duty and when I sold that one I put it on this truck ( 2001 ) that I have now. It lasted around 8 years........It finally rotted at the stitching around the edges.........I like the locking aspect about it because the tailgate locks too. It is pretty secure when we travel or when I go hunting. It's a pretty good product. If the powered one was a little cheaper I would of tried it......Thanks Bobby "

"THE PACE EDWARDS ROLL-TOP TONNEAU COVER WAS EASY FOR ONE PERSON TO INSTALL. THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE CLEAR AND WORDED SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT EACH STEP SHOULD BE. I ALSO PURCASED THE ELECTRIC TAILGATE LOCK FOR MY SILVERADO AND IT INSTALLED QUITE EASILY ALSO.NOW I THE BED OF MY TRUCK IS LOCKED EVERY TIME I LOCK THE DOORS OF MY TRUCK."

"Cover is of excellant quality, appearance and operational characteristics. Installation is made difficult by the most confusing instuctions I have experienced. Might have been easier to install with no instructions to confuse what could have been done logically by examining the components, deciding how they fit together, then installing in a rational manner. Over-all, completely satisfied with the cover"

"I received the cover and embarked on the journey to install it. I read the instructions online a few days earlier and hoped that once I had the item to reference the instructions it would all come together. WRONG!!! There isn't enough detail or detailed pictures. For instance, it tells you there are shims included for your convenience but you're never given any ideas as to where the shims might work best. Anyway, after 2 hours and many swear words, I was unrolling the cover into the tracks only to find out that the cover was damaged. When I called Auto Anything the next day, they handled the situation quickly and professionally. The damaged cover was picked up the next day and I had the new one a few days after that. The 2nd installation went quicker, until I tried to install the roll top canister cover. Come to find out, the plastic inserts for attaching the top were not in the package. I called Pace Edwards to complain and was assured that they would be shipped out immediately. Since I had them on the phone, I took the opportunity to voice my displeasure with their instructions. I was told that they would pass my comments on the the "lady" who writes the instructions. That was the moment of my epiphany. THEY HAVE A WOMAN WRITING INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING TRUCK PARTS!!! No wonder 90% of the reviews online complain about the instructions. I've been married 22 years and I still don't understand half of what my wife wants me to do. Have you ever received directions from a woman? I rest my case. Don't get me wrong, women have many things that they excel in, that men fail miserably at. But writing instructions (that will be used by a man)for installing complicated auto parts on a vehicle should not be written by a woman."

"The installation went pretty smooth. The only problem I have is with the lock. It does not want to stay locked. When I'm driving the roll top slides open from the vibration. I know its not istallation error because it's a simple cabinet type lock. Im trying to find something similar that won't come open with vibration."

"Step by step install instruction I used was pretty simple.I am having a little bit of difficulty with fine tuning the latches to securly lock the cover into the closed position.I'll eventually get it right. This cover looks good on my 08 Silverado. I look forward to getting a couple more miles out of every gallon of gas I use."

"The directions are a little disceiving. Once you figure out the side rail conbination, it goes pretty good. The directions never tell you to install the the lock cover before installing the lock cylinder through the fabric. Overall, it's a great product for the money and better than a soft cover system if you don't mind loosing a little bed space."

"The instructions that came with my roll top were for another truck. I had to go online and retrieve the manual for my truck. Four of the pre-drilled holes in the track that were tapped did not align with the rails. Filing was necessary to correct this issue. The key lock linkage interfers with the top channel it fits in and makes it difficult to operate."

"This tonneau cover was a sweet deal!! However, the directions can be a bit confusing. The product is really great. My only negative comment on this product is that the four screws that hold down the roll-top housing could have used better materials. But, a quick trip to home depot, or lowe's can fix that problem. Overall, this product is great, and you get what you pay for."

"my last cover lasted 7 years .i hope this one lasts as long.it was easy to install except when it came to the roll cover. the aluminuim supports di not line up with holes on the plastic cover.had to r and r"

"Second cover I have installed on different vehicles. I like the product but screw attachment to the rails is lacking. I add sheet metal screws and have used thread serts or rivited. Otherwise cover operats and lasts a long time with simple maintennance. Looks great."

"I installed the Pace Edwards Roll Top cover on my 2004 Chevy Colorado. It was a very easy install (took about 45 min.). I tested the cover out in the rain the next day. All of my hunting gear stayed dry. I have also noticed about a 3mpg increase in fuel mileage. I highly recommend this very functional cover."

"The cover looks good open or closed but takes hours to install. If you have a bed liner, you better have a set of tools to cut the rails shorter etc, alot of extra work involved to make it work, and you cannot return the item once it has shipped (it's "custom"). Overall, it looks good. The locking mech design is terrible and is very stiff to lock and unlock, hopefully some more use will make it easier to open."

"I bought this for a road trip and it worked out great for not having to unload everything from the bed to the hotel room or families house. It was easy to install and easy to use. The lock mechanism is a little tricky at times but for the price you cant beat it!!"

"This cover is a good value and easy to install. The fasteners provided are slotted hex heads, so use a ratchet and the installation is a snap. The locking linkage and lock assembly are the weakest parts of the design, but after a few frustrating minutes, I got it to work smoothly. The directions could be a little better, they don't make much sense unless you're looking at the parts."

Great cover-poor instructions

"The cover is what I expected, but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. When installing on a GMC, the holder only laps the bed by 1/2 inch each side. This should be noted in the instructions. This ovelap means the cover is the support for the holder."

"I don't know how all these other people installed their unit in one hour. I had to make two phone calls and it took me about eight hours and I still had to make modifications to get it installed and working. I have an engineering and machine shop background and wouldn't recommend a general homeowner to attempt to install one himself."
