Cool Idea, not to easy to install

"I liked the idea of the Pop & Lock unit for my Tacoma. And I agree with others this should be a standard feature on the Toyota trucks. I have had the hardest time installing the unit. The instructions are okay, but don't really highlight the fact you have to take apart the tailgate to put this unit in. It was an all day project for me. Some of the fastening pieces also did not fit right. The lock also needs lots of lubricants to work smoothly. I would not buy one of these again, but would recommed if you are mechanically inclined"

Fits A 2008 Tacoma

"Fit is perfect and looks like it's supposed to be there. At first I had a little difficulty getting this to line up for a smooth install. As usual the directions were vague at best as with most products you buy these days. If your experiencing problems like I did you might try loosening the existing bolts that hold the tailgate latch secure( not stated in the directions) then it slides right in and the rest is a breeze. Don't forget to re-tighten the latch bolts. Works very well for it's intended purpose a must for your tailgate especially if you have a topper or cover over the bed and want it totally secure."

Tight fit - 2006 Silverado

"The lock was easy to install, but doesn't fit to look like the picture. The key hole is just under the handle, so you have to lift the handle up slightly to put the key in. Once the key is in the lock you then have to push the handle in to unlock. The lock works and I like it. However, if I had to go in and out of the truck bed a lot, I would return for a refund."

"I needed a tailgate lock and didn't have the time to look in person. While this one does the job, I wouldn't have paid this much had I known. It just doesn't have the feel or quality I expected for $60"

"Purchased the lock for a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. Needed added security for a BAKFLIP Tonneau Cover I purchased from another company B-4 I found AutoAnything. I would purchase both again. Wasn't in a hurry to install either product. Both were relatively easy to install. Even if you have the least amount of mechanical ability, no problem. The POP n LOCK was exactly what I needed."

In the past, before I knew Pop n Lock existed, I used a double hinge hasp to secure the tail gate on the company truck. I had to drill holes in the truck to make it work but it kept the tail gate from getting stolen. Once I discovered Pop n Lock, I used it to secure my tail gate for my personal truck. The Pop n Lock fit great! It fit with the stock screws and dovetail fit with my stock tailgate handle. No holes had to be drilled and it looks stock and professional. It is just as easy to remove if I sell the truck or change the tailgate. It is by far, better than a double hige hasp. Sincerely, Angelo working in Guam"

"I ordered this lock thinking it wouldn't work very well in keeping the truck bed secure but it works just fine. I was skeptical about the installation too but followed the directions and had it installed in a matter of seconds. The label keeps peeling back and would be better with an etched or engraved label but overall I'm very satisfied."
