I had the original Truxedo on my previous truck and loved it. I really wanted a low profile one this time to help the velcro last longer before it wore out as it does on the original Truxedo. But, I really like the flip top on the front section w/ the Duece. I was always having to roll up my old cover or, crawl up inside the bed to retrieve something that had slid forward. Not anymore. I don't see this one being much flimsier than the original like some have stated either.

The bottom "bar" that is suppose to latch to the top is too low. The bar underneath is not taught enough to have the latch on the top grab it properly. You have to reach in and push the lower bar up so that it engages, poor design. I really like the balance of the cover, but would not recommend the "front opening duel".

The cover does not fit so great, I need less tension on it but already have it at the least tension possible. Perhaps I need to drill out the slots in the crossbar a little, but seems silly that the manufacturer did not allow for more wiggle room on the tension control mechanism. The hinge for the flip needed to be siliconed to prevent rain from leaking in, and every time you flip it open you need to make sure that the rubber from the bottom rail is not "pinched" under the moving hinge piece. Alsom, the left rail is shorter than the right rail. I would not reccomend this cover.

I thought the installation video allthough was handy to have, left out some information. also there are sticky backed seal pieces stuck to the inside of the cover for no reason in the middle where there is no sealing needed. The cover is not rated to be water tight, but I thought it would be better than it is. the sealing installation for the front of the bed is not clear and is easy to end up with big leak areas at the front corners. Also the seals leak at the hinge points. The cover is good and is my second truxedo cover. I like the look on my truck. I really expected this one to be better than it is. If truxedo can tell me how to make the fit better I will do it but I am not sure where to begin.

The Deuce Tonneau cover is a nice looking cover, but as I have owned the original Truxedo cover, this one is not near as sturdy as the original. I have had issues with the back lock down plate bowing upwards and not sealing very well to the tailgate due to the tightness of the cover. I have loosened all adjusting nuts, as the directions state, to try and get the tonneau to sit down better but to no avail. The original cover had a more solid bar that went across the back of the truck and made a better seal to the tailgate. Also due to the tightness of the cover, the front section is difficult to close requiring several slams before it latches.

Hello, I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra, double Cab – Limited. I have a truxedo cover for the back and I’m looking for a rack system that will work without interfering with that system. Do you have anything that will work without wrapping inside the bed?

Does this cover lock?
Answered by Michael K. — Dec 29, 2011 5:18 PM
Hi Mike, the TruXedo latches on the inside of your truck bed. So, if you can lock your tailgate, the Tonneau cover is essentially locked, since the latch is in the bed. The easiest way to lock your tailgate is with the Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock: http://www.autoanything.com/hitch-bed-accessories/60A2797A0A0.aspx
