Description

When you’re in and out of your cargo bed all the time, the JackRabbit Tonneau Cover is just your style. This aerodynamic hard tonneau cover retracts automatically using a pull strap, and opens and closes without a key—saving you time and effort!

The JackRabbit's weather-resistant, padded polymer cover is laminated to rigid aluminum panels for a tight, solid fit. Your cargo is protected from rain, snow, dirt and wind wherever you travel. The cover locks every 12”, automatically catching into each position as you pull it forward.

The low-profile tonneau cover design is 100% flush-mounted with texture-finish rails and top cover. It’s designed to clamp in easily to your cargo bed with no drilling. For easy access, the handle and lock are mounted to the driver’s side with an optional cargo light for improved bed visibility. Pick up the optional Explorer Series Rails, and your tonneau is ready for mounting a burly Pace Edwards overhead rack. Backed by a 1-year warranty.

nice top, tough install

"I love the look and use of my new tonneau, but I had to mess with it three different times to finally get it to lock. It now locks fine but one of the side rails is crooked. I dont think I'll try to fix it though, I may not get it to lock again"

JackRabbit for 2004 Toyota Tundra Access Cab

Posted on 04/26/2006 by Micah S. - 2004 Toyota Tundra (Salt Lake City,UT)

"I really enjoy the benefits of having the tonneau cover on my truck. It looks good and is very functional. In fact, it served me well driving across the country on a recent trip. The JackRabbit cover is one of the best I've seen because of the retractable feature. The downside of this cover is the poor installation instructions. The website claims installation in 1-2 hours, but it took me 5-6. The directions are not very clear and the diagrams are terrible. There is not a parts inventory listed within the packaging so you have no idea if you have everything you need for installation. What's more, every truck will be different so make sure and allow time for subtle differences. In my case, I had to remove the factory installed tie down anchors in the front of my truck bed in order for the canister to fit. Overall, I am happy with the performance and look of my JackRabbit retractable tonneau cover."

Super Cover

"Worth every penny.Had to modify my bedliner, back corners of the bed liner where rounded. Also I had to shim the track towards the tailgate to keep the tracks in line. When I was done it looked great and worked perfectly.I highly recommend it."

"I really enjoy may bed cover! It looks great and have had alot of positive feed back from other people about it. My advice to all that order it is to simply follow the directions. It took me and 2 other guys about 3 hours to install, just because we did not read the directions carefully. Simply put, read the directions all the way through and do what the directions tell you to and you should not have any problems. The only other thing is to make sure that you use the correct kind of lubricant so it will slide easily. Once it is on though, it looks great and does a good job. It does not totaly water proof the bed area, it leaks just a little where the cover meets the tailgate."

Great Cover

Posted on 04/01/2006 by Robert K D. (Lake Havasu City,AZ)

"First is to thank Edgar for his fine job of ordering the right top and getting it here as soon as possible. Faster that I thought. The installation was a snap if you read the directions ( like putting the strap on so the top will latch in place). It took about 2 hours and I am completely satisfied and will tell all my friends about AutoAnything and what a great job they do."

Outstanding!

Posted on 03/11/2006 by Edward T. (Tucson,AZ)

"The JackRabbit Tonneau Cover by Pace Edwards is really superb. The high quality and workmanship make it a standout. I had some problems with the installation, but the PE people were patient and helpful on the phone and I was able to install it properly. One of the things that I noticed immediately when driving my truck was the increased braking that was required when slowing or stopping for normal traffic situations. I then realized that the back of a truck without a tonneau cover acts the same as a drag-shoot does for a fighter aircraft. This will certainly improve my gas mileage, although I haven't had the opportunity to actually check it yet. The bottom line is that I feel that the JackRabbit Tonneau is a good investment and AutoAnything was very pleasant to work with. By the way, the appearance of the cover is exceptional and I constantly get positive comments from others."

Instructions

Posted on 03/01/2006 by J P S. (Edgewater,MD)

"1. The Instructions should mention that the notch in the rail on the canister end should strattle the bed guide before installing the rail to the canister. 2. It should be mentioned also the role that the pull strap has on the lock and unlock operation. Other than these two things that are not hard to figure out, installation was a snap and the fit excellent."

Don't plan on a 15 minute installation

Posted on 02/14/2006 by Ronald M. - 2005 Dodge Ram (Marietta,GA)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I found the installation to be somewhat difficult for one person to handle, although I was able to accomplish this task. It was more like an hour and not 15 minutes though. One word to the wise though. When you are instructed to pull the cover through the tracks I found it best to have the cover housing in place, that is inside the truck bed and not still supported on the box that has the cover 2 to 3 inches above the top of the bed. When I pulled the cover into the tracks the cover on one side pulled the track off the cover housing and it went crashing down the side of the truck bed scratching the side of my new truck. Yea, I know its just a truck, but now it has its first blemish. Once I placed the unit inside the bed the installation went well. My last truck had a fiberglass top that I had to remove continually when I needed to use the bed for taller items. This cover will make life much more easier. I also think Pace Edwards could supply the lubricant necessary for the sweep seals. One last item that should help the do it yourselfer. I would suggest putting the drain hoses on the cannister before you place the unit in the truck bed. These drain hoses fit very tight and it is very difficult to lie on your back and try to apply the muscle power needed to get these hoses snapped in place. All in all this is a great unit. It looks great and works well. I am quite satisfied."

Pace Edwards JackRabbit Tonneau Cover

Posted on 01/18/2006 by Ronald H. - 2004 Nissan Titan (West Suffield,CT)

"Directions weren't as clear as they should be for install.I had to make changes to my bed extender to be able to put it on because they offer only one way to clamp it. They need to specify that if you have a bed extender it's not the tonneau to buy. Not as sturdy as I thought."
