FULL METAL JACKRABBIT - AWESOME!
Posted on 11/16/2007 by Armando J. - 2007 Toyota Tundra (Valencia,CA)

"Great cover! I have at least a dozen friends with trucks and they all think the cover is awesome! It looks great and the fit is perfect.
Most would pick the FM over the regular snugtop lift tonneau, (which I had in my last truck a F-150) anyday. Along with the bedrug it is a perfect combo.
Installation was pretty easy, but it definetly helps to have some extra hands.I can't believe how flush the fit is, it can out better than I expected. Absolutely no noise rattle when driving and when I've washed my truck I've had no water leaks in the cab.
Pace Edwards gets my highest recommendation!"

"a real quality cover, took about 3 hours to install. i took my time and didn't rush anything.i had to drill the drain holes in the bed because the bed liner didn't have any. everything went together fine.i did use my wife to help position the canister and install the rails.I'm very satisfied with it.looks great.Hank"

"I really like the Pace Full metal jackrabbit. It looks great on my 2007 F150. If I had one complaint it would be about the drain system, that allows water to get into the holder and drain out through two tubes pushed through your drain plugs in your bed. I hope they seal and work if not cold winters will be frustraighting. But above all I really like it and it was easy to install by myself."

"I wanted a tonneau cover which would be solid, secure, convenient, visually appealing, non-sagging and durable,..., the Pace Edwards FMJ tonneau cover had met the criterias.
The instructions are vague, however, if one was to follow the pictures and "quick" read the text, the installation was comprehensible. I did a one person install which took approximately 1 1/2 hours.
The cover was simple and does not require a lot of strength to operate.
Highly Recommend Product! Received a lot of positive comments."

"I installed my FMJ without any help. It took me about an hour. If I had an extra set of hands or 2 it would have taken 1/2 that time. I got the explorer rails and installed Thule components and bars. Can't wait for the snow. Keep the boards up top and my boots and cloths under the cover, nice and dry."

"I think that the tonneau cover is a good product it keeps any of my belongings out of other peoples sight. I have the lumber rack with the cover and i donot like the rack except for the rachet tie downs which can work there way loose. the aluminum rack does not allow long material to be transported very well, I think they need to do a better design for rack. I almost want to reinstall my old rack back on my truck."

"My conditions for buying a Tonneau for my truck were that it had to be secure & functional. Flip-up, hard cover Tonneau's look great but aren't very functional and soft Tonneau's aren't secure. Enter the JackRabbit! It looks great, very functional, consumes very little space - and can reasonably secure your bed space. I read most of the reviews posted on autoanything before purchase. The greatest concern - that I noticed - was the poor installation documentation so I prepared myself for the worst. In my opinion - the instructions weren't that bad. Take some time before installation to review the instructions - look at some finished product pictures at Pace Edwards and have at it. Key things to keep in mind - the parts are put together with aluminum tongue and groove flanges. These are machined components that will only install when perfectly aligned - can be stubborn during assembly. I installed solo in about 2 hours."

"Cover was shipped quickly and in great shape. I agree with other reviews - the instructions leave a bit to be desired, but it only took about 1 1/2 hours to install. A second person is definitely recommended for sliding the rails into the canister, along with a hammer and a wood tapping block! Be sure to order suggested seal lubricant(doesn't come with cover, and really is necessary). Thrilled with look and functionality. No regrets, would buy again!"

"I used a standard vinyl button tonneau cover on my 95 Toyota Tacoma and it was okay for the times but now with my new 07 Toyota Tacoma double cab I wanted to get a functional but nice looking cover. This is the one! Installation was okay and took longer than expected but after it was on and a few minor tweaks. The truck looks great and very functional. I can still use my bed extender and lock up the cover for added protection. I also ordered Pace Edwards pop-lock to lock up the tailgate for full bed protection. I recommend it since the cover is lockable. Great product and I love the clean finish. Nice work Pace Edwards. PS - I overtightened one of the rail screws and stripped the threads on 1 rail mount, called Pace Edwards direct with the number on the instructions to get 1 rail mount and they sent the whole mounting kit in a box. Now I have extra parts just incase I muscle it too much. Great manufacture support."

"It took a PHD in Education, a Doctor, and a Marine Lieutenant Colonel almost 4 hours to do a 15 minute job because the instructions were so bad. The product is perfectly engineered....but at the cost of the product, don't you think you could include the TORX #30? And couldn't you afford to hire someone to write decent instructions with good pictures so the easy job would be easy? A DVD is cheap and great advertising for you and a modern way to show how it goes together and how to put it together. Product is a 5 star and instructions are 10 piles of what dogs put in your yard."

"Installation was fairly easy, although the instructions were somewhat confusing. I am somwhat dissapointed with the cover mainly for one reason: It is not waterproof! Dont get me wrong, it looks great and functions perfectly, but when it rains, water drips along the edges into the bed. I called Pace Edwards and they said they do not claim it to be water proof, and it is not covered under warranty. The leak is not that bad, but it is enough to make me second guess keeping some items back there that I was planning on."

"My new Jackrabbit cover looks great and operates very well. This is my first Tonneau cover and would recommend it to anyone that can afford 1K for an accessory. Directions aren't the greatest, but what man reads 'em anyhow? If you know what the difference is between a hammer and wrench, you won't have much trouble. The cover bows slightly while traveling, but I can live with it. Also, my first experience with Autoanything. Upon calling for more information, the rep didn't know too much, but price was right and shipping was included.

"Installed my FMJ on my 2001 S10 ZR2 by myself in an hour and 15 mins.
3 things slowed me down. 1) Instructions aren't the clearest to follow. 2)A little awkward getting the raiols aligned. 3)Had to undo rail clamps to push rails farther forward to clear tailgate. (Which means I need to trim 1 1/2: off the front edge of the rails)
But this cover looks AWESOME! And it is working perfectly! Some small complaints about little things that should be better for the price... Rear rail tailgate cushions are junk and the screw alignment for the box cover was off a bit. Worked out these issues and I am satisfied."

"Hi, I love the tonneau! It was pretty easy to install and I'm a girl. So far it doesn't leak. It fits very well. I did have a small problem with the locking mechanism sticking before I even put the tonneau on and once after. I do like the fact that it locks and so does my tailgate. We will see how it goes with the lock. It would have been nice to have a little bit of lube/rubber protector included. The main complaint I have is that the warranty has to be sent within 14 days of purchase. I order the tonneau on line it took that long to ship it. I sent the warranty in anyway especially cause of the lock. Still, the design is great and its worth the money."

"Researching covers, I contacted PE and Truck Covers Usa. PE rep said FMJ weighed about 125 (comparable to USA). I liked not having a bar sticking up along the edge of the tailgate, so I got the FMJ. Had problems with installation and getting in touch with tech support. After contact w/tech, install was a breeze and had a good experience with the support dept. However, the top weighs only 75lbs and "feels" it. Also, the tailgate edge sags in the middle so maybe they need a bar across it, or stronger end slat. Probably would be ok with it if I had only pd $700, but there are too many negatives for the $1000 price."
