"Love the function, look and ease of installation. However, with temperature changes, the rubber seals expand and contract thus changing the fit of the rear panel against the tailgate. Other than that, it's great!"

"I would rate the quality of the materials a 9/10, quality of construction 8/10 - some glue showing where panels attached to hinges. Fit was pretty good, but instructions could be improved. Advertised as all stainless fasteners which was incorrect - washers and nuts regular steel. Drain receptacle and tubes weakest link and should be re-engineered."

"The Bak-Flip was a great add on, easy to use and the security I wanted. Install was quick and easy despite the worthless instructions. All the pictures show bed caps which looked to me was part of the Bak-Flip. Not the case. It mounts inside the bed rails which looks reat but the holes in the bedrails allow water into the bed."

"I have previously owned several types of hard tonneau covers including several solid fiberglass lids and a retractable type. The Bak-flip is my first folding tonneau.
I received my Bak flip cover much faster than I expected. It took only eight working days to arrive. It was packaged properly and arrived with no damage. My wife remarked about how light the large box was.
The installation was not difficult and relatively simple for anyone of moderate mechanical inclination. However a person of little mechanical experience would have a problem understanding the included instructions. In my opinion the instructions could be much clearer and should be more detailed and re-written at a level that would apply to people with less mechanical experience. Also I think the manufacturer should provide stainless steel bolts for use in attaching the tonneau to the rails.
Post installation observations:
1. The cover is very attractive and the texture and color match the plastic bed cap rails on my 2007 Titan. It looks like an OEM factory product.
2. The cover for my titan has three panels. This provides a nice balance look.
3. I have not had a problem with the latches as I have read in other reviews. Mine latch firmly and easily.
4. With the tailgate locked, there is no way to open the tonneau cover as it has no external latch. You must drop the tailgate first. Although this can be a drawback at times, it does provide a clean look and great security.
5. Although it has rained already I have not seen any water leakage to date; but the lid has been on the truck for only two weeks.
6. I replaced the two attachment bolts at the front of the top with stainless steel bolts immediately.
To summarize, the Bak-Flip tonneau is better looking than a retractable lid, provides secure storage, opens all the way, does not have a canister that takes up bed space, provides good weather protection and is about half the price of a retractable or fiberglass lid. It is very easy to open as the sections are light and strong. I "

Bakflip on a 2006 Frontier

"I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier CC w/ the utilitrak. The rails for the cover comes with 6 locking mounts, I used only 4. One at the front and one at the end of each rail. The other 2 pieces would be in the way of the utility rails. It doesnt really get in the way directly...but just enough that you will not be able to slide anything past it easily. So far it seems to be stable enough.
I noticed another issue as well. The front that meets the back of the crew cab has a weatherstrip that is supposed to seal against the cab. Apparently the metal edge cut through that strip and was rubbing the back of the cab quite badly to the point of stripping paint off. I had to remove the cover and use weather stripping from Home Depot to form a cushion between the cab and the cover top edge.
Another thing, remove the shocks before you loosen the nuts to remove the cover. It adds too much tension on the bolts itself causing difficulties in removing them.
Despite the little issues, I am happy enough with the cover. It does leak a little but for the most part pretty resistant to the rain.
Service from autoanything was excellent and all parts came in 3 days to Hawaii. Noel provided all the information I needed and more, thanks again."

"Everything was great, there are only two disappointments. The documentation that comes withit is terrible, but the install was easy inspite of the pretty pictures and unanswered questions. They say to use 4 bolts on each rail, but only provived 3 holes. And the biggest disappoint is that they use the Tacoma "T" rails to mount the cover, so the "T" rail isn't available once you install the cover."

"It was difficult to decide which cover to choose from all the options available. I am NOT disappointed that I chose the Bakflip. It works perfectly for my business, was easier than expected to install and keeps the water out of my truck bed. The only moisture that came in during a hard rain was around the sides of the tailgate. It was nice to receive a product that looks and functions better than I would have anticipated. Good value!"

"This cover is the ONLY one that will let you use 100% of your truck bed,as nothing folds downward ,or are there any drums,or canisters taking up cargo area, that other covers need to retract into when open. This I think was designed for the person who cannot run into a store and leave maybe thousands of dolars worth of cargo in plain sight, exposed to theft,or the elements. The cover when flipped,or folded back against the rear truck window allows for cargo that is taller than the sides of your bed to be transported safely, and say in the case of a refrigerater, standing upright, with full protection of the rear window glass. The looks of the truck are kept steamlined, and no bulky tool box screaming,"rob me,I'am full of tools",is sticking out of your bed,if you decide to take in a movie,or go to the beach. The installation could not have been simpler, although depending on the angle of your side rails, you might need to pick up some wood shims,or paint stiring sticks to get a nice plum fit,(straight up,and down),so your folding covers will align perfectly.I also used two sided camper tape foam seal on the rail that seperates the bed, from the cab, even though it might not have been necessary,as the fit on my truck was perfect. It is not 100% waterproof, but then neither is your tailgate, and living in South Florida, where downpours every afternoon, are common place,I simlpy keep sandpaper, and small bags of concrete in a rubbermaid box,and up on a wood skid,as what little water does get in only dampens the floor of the bed, with no puddles, even in an overnight rain. You can still carry plwwood,or drywall to the limits of the truck, and two bolts, which you could wing nut,if you wanted, will take the whole rig out,and off,in minutes, but for what reason,i wouldn't know. The top is secure when locked in place,if you have a locking tailgate, otherwise you need an aftermarket tailgate lock. I could pry the top off,to get inside, about as easily as I could put the same bar through a window,so it's as secure as a truck is going t"

"Just installed the BAK Flip cover and I love it. I looks and works great. I did have 2 small problems that were corrected immediatly by BAK Flip. (1) the two bolts that hold down the front part of the cover rusted imediatly. They sent me two new ones that are galvanized. (2) The cover was about a 1/4" short. They send me 2 rubber gaskets thats sealed the cover to the rails perfectly. Otherwise, Its a great cover that is very versitile"

"I like the cover. It works as advertised. The installation instructions could have been more detailed though. There is one small problem that I have encounterd. When closing the cover you really have to bang on the last panel pretty hard to get it to lock down. I double checked my installation and I installed the cover exactly as the intructions said. This cover though is still a lot better than my old vinyl cover."
