Description

There are 2 problems with traditional tonneau covers: they block cargo access or they don't provide enough security. BAK solves both these age-old problems with the G2 version of the BakFlip Tonneau Cover. Flip it back for total bed access and rear window protection, or fold it forward and lock it in place for a solid defense against thieves.

Tonneaus are constantly exposed to harsh weather, so the BakFlip is built to withstand Mother Nature's wrath. Each panel's crafted from aerospace-grade honeycomb core bonded on both sides to a tough ABS laminate. The structure is 100% weather-resistant and strong enough to support 200 lbs of distributed weight. Plus, your BakFlip never fades, warps or cracks.

You won't flip out installing your BakFlip Tonneau Cover G2 Version. Just a few minutes and a few hand tools are all it takes to clamp your new tonneau cover into your truck's bed. Plus, the BakFlip's low profile fits inside the bed rails to eliminate MPG-robbing wind drag. 1-year warranty.

"Very low profile, looks great. Also seems to be sturdy and made well without being too heavy. The install is very easy, but I did have trouble actually getting the rear most clamps to tighten down enough without just rolling off the edge of the rails. I think that it needs a rubber bump strip so when you fold it up against your rear window, it doesn't mar the paint. That should be easy to find. I do wonder how long the cables for the release mechanism will last, and it seems to bind just a little bit when you fold it all the way up. There are two little metal strips at the front that apparently secure some of the weather stripping. They look like an afterthought in the design. They included some additional weather stripping that I assume is used to seal up your tailgate, but there were no instructions. I made some assumptions about their placement and mine hasn't leaked one bit. The kit to lower the rail system in the bed is basically a set of aluminum plates. They are sturdier than they appear, but it looks like something anybody with a bandsaw and drillpress could have made in 15 minutes. I've listed every little thing I could think of that was wrong, so overall I'd say its a great product with a lot of utility. Also, delivery was right on track and nothing was damaged upon arrival. It's a good, slightly cheaper, alternative to the roll up aluminum covers. I've had one of those and I think this will be more watertight."

"I am very pleased with my new truck bed cover. Installation was easy except for having to cut the bed liner a little to fit the drain tubes. I was a little worried how it would work with a bed extender, but found that there is no problem. It does leak a "little" but is still a big help with backpacks on rainy days when the cab is load with kids."

"The backflip cover was easy to install and seems to perform as advertised. The instructions were somewhat weak but the installation is intuitive enough that this didn't matter. My cover was installed on a full size (8') Chevy bed and seems to call for 4 connection bolts between the cover and the side rails. Only 2 were included with my order which resulted in a necessary trip to the hardware store. The instuctions seem to indicate that only 2 bolts are needed yet my cover came pre-drilled for 4. I suspect that trucks with shorter beds only require 2. AutoAnything did a fine job of getting my order to me in Alaska quickly."

"The BAK Backflip is just as advertised. Easy to install and easy to use. I have a Nissan Titan with utility track system and I had to remove the rail, flip it over and reinstall it. So I get the best of both worlds, the utility track and the Bakflip. It took me about 15 minutes to install the Bakflip because I was anal about making sure it was lined up perfectly before attaching it. The drain hose is a bit of a hassle, I have a spray in bed liner and no appropriate drain holes. Therefore I am not sure what to do with it. I might just plug the drain hose and see what happens."

"Great cover, very finished look, could be factory, weak instructions, every unit should ship with shims, mine did not, The drain tubes in front will go right through the bed plugs, best way to do this is a 3/4" drill bit, pinch the hose and push it through with enough hose to point downward between the cab and bed. The lid flips open for large cargo and never needs to be removed, best feature. Very sturdy panels. I am very satisfied!"

I had the cover and all installed (except the drain tubes) in about a 1/2 hour. I recommend this cover to anyone looking. My father-in-law is looking to get one for his '03 Dodge after seeing mine."

"This is my second Ridgeline ,On my first I had Honda's Tonneau cover,It was stronger than this but less versitile,It could only flip open 1/2 of the bed size and it leaked water. But it did come with a lock which broke after first 6 months. But it coast $ 1700 + some dealers want an install charge. This cover was less than 1/2 the price and I can access my whole bed if I want.It also has not leaked any water yet (1 month). It looks good fit well and went in easily. But it is light weight you can not rest much weight on top of it.The factory cover was much stronger but limets bed usage.I would recomend the Bak cover."

"This was exactly the type of tonneau cover I wanted for my 2008 F-150 Supercrew. The fit is close to perfect, and it does exactly what I wanted it to do. I was very impressed by how quickly AutoAnything got the product delivered to my doorstep, and by their great customer support. The only thing I would suggest improving is the the clamping devices which hold the the rail tracks to the truck bed. The fit there is a little on the shaky side; it's hard to get them tightened down evenly."

"I ordered the Bakflip based on the it's clever design, not knowing if it would be a quality product. I am very pleased. It is very easy to install and operate. It has improved my gas milage by one and a half miles per gallon and it appears to to be made ruggedly enough to hold up to working conditions. The only concerne I have is that it looks like it might be easier to brake into than some of the other Tonneau covers. I also was lucky that my truck tailgate locks because the only way to lock the tonneau cover is by having a locking tailgate. Over all I am very pleased."

"Two areas that need improvement are: 1 - Were the cover meets the cab the rubber weather seal needs to be larger to seal better. 2 - midway on the side rail of the bed a plug needs to be added so a smooth, flat transition will allow for the side gasket to fit better. These are minor adjustments but needed ones."

"After reviewing the available covers I choose the BakFlip as it offered the best of soft and hard covers. Easy to remove for hauling yet secure enough to store valuables. Arrived within a week of ordering, not bad for shipping across the country. Easy to install, had to trim the bed liner where the rails met the front of the bed, otherwise no problems. Fits great, looks great, easy to use. A little water leakage with Tropical Storm this week but not bad overall. Highly recommend."

"Shipping was fast the install was easy. To tell the truth my 7 year old Boy put the rails on and I did the quality control. only issue was one latch on one side of one of the middle panels would not latch no matter how hard I tried. I drove it like that for about a week and checked on it again everything had settled and the top works flawlessly."

"The BAK Bakflip Tonneau Cover was easy to install. I have the deck rail system in my Tundra. The cover came with adaptors so that you could still use the rail system, but it is limited compared to before cover install. The covers looks great does have small leak in corners, so not completely water tight."

"I've owned the cover for about a month and have driven from Wisconsin through Colorado Springs, Albuqueque, Mesa Verde, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Bishop California and had my vehicle shipped from LA to Hawaii. The cover held up well with no problems. Initial installation was very easy with two minor exceptions. The first one was that there were two sheet metal screws included with the parts that did not have any instructions on where they should go. I assume they are to anchor the rails to the side at the tailgate end...but I haven't installed them since it means screwing them into the vehicle. The thing I like about this cover is that it utilizes existing bolt holes with no modifications to the vehicle and the two screws seem to violate that principle. The second thing is that initially the cover needed to be pressed on to get it to click in place. Over time this became unnecessary as the cover wore in a little bit. It now closes without effort. Overall I'm very satisfied and would recommend the cover. it held up well on a four wheel drive trip to Cerro Gordo. This cover won't keep dust from getting into the bed of a Honda Ridgeline though....but that's a vehicle design problem. It held off rain acceptably....and even though there's no lock on the tailgate...It looks like it is locked since it fits factory tight. A lock is my next purchase though since I spent a sleepless night in ABQ wondering if my stuff was going to still be there when I woke up. Jim"
