Description

There are 2 problems with traditional tonneau covers: they block cargo access or they don't provide enough security. BAK solves both these age-old problems with the G2 version of the BakFlip Tonneau Cover. Flip it back for total bed access and rear window protection, or fold it forward and lock it in place for a solid defense against thieves.

Tonneaus are constantly exposed to harsh weather, so the BakFlip is built to withstand Mother Nature's wrath. Each panel's crafted from aerospace-grade honeycomb core bonded on both sides to a tough ABS laminate. The structure is 100% weather-resistant and strong enough to support 200 lbs of distributed weight. Plus, your BakFlip never fades, warps or cracks.

You won't flip out installing your BakFlip Tonneau Cover G2 Version. Just a few minutes and a few hand tools are all it takes to clamp your new tonneau cover into your truck's bed. Plus, the BakFlip's low profile fits inside the bed rails to eliminate MPG-robbing wind drag. 1-year warranty.

"I bought my Bak Flip for my 2007 F-150 FX2 Supercrew. I had some trouble installing only because i didn't receive the shims my truck needed. I ended up cutting my plastic bedliner in the front to accomodate though with my dremel. Other than that it still fit w/o the shims just easier if i'd had them. All together i think this is a great product. Seems pretty water tight to me and i've had to fold it a few times already to carry some stuff and still holding up fine. Great product so far. Just what i was expecting."

"there should be a question about how it fits around other stuff. You said it would fit with the cargo management system in my silverado, what you didnt tell me is that I cant fit any accessories on my CMS with the rails in place!!!!! and I had to cut the drain nipples in half to clear the CMS!! sorta pissed about all that!!"

"I love this cover, i live in Northern Iowa its been -14 or there about most nights since i got this cover and the cold has not adversely affected the weather stripping or rubber at all. Has completely kept the snow out and is the most versatile cover i've ever purchased, 6 guys have all said as soon as what they have wears out their buying one and i've only had it a week! You won't regret this you definitely get what you pay for took me about 20 minutes to install another person helping would've sped that up quite a little but hey i could still do it alone. Buy it, love it, use it and show it off last cover u will ever own."

"Over the phone help was great prior to purchase and I received the cover quickly. Have a drop in bed liner for Dodge Dakota though that required some major cuts around the rail area. Fortunately I have a mini circular saw that did the job. Cover installed quickly after that and looks GREAT."

"I used to own a fiberglass tonneau but found it inconvenient. I figured the bakflip would allow me to carry tall items without having to remove the cover. Overall, I think eiter cover works, you just trade one inconvenience for another. with the Bakflip, you have to individually open four panels to fully open the bed which can be inconvenient. And you need a locking tailgate for full security. But it works. It seems to block water and is secure. Installation was a snap but you do have to drill two drain holes for 1" plastic tubes. I haven't figured out how to keep the cover in the fully open position - it bangs against the rear window of the truck (and you wont' be able to see out). But it's easy enough to remove. It doesn't look as slick as a fiberglass cover but I do like how it fits flush with the bed rails."

"Well... here is the scoop. I installed it not knowing what the heck to do, since the instructions are not very good. I researched everything on the internet, and watched the companies install video, but no mention of different instalation troubleshooting issues. I had to make some adjustments to my bedliner (cut a piece out of the plastic) to fit the drain part. Other then that the install went good and I love it. I am curious how the rubber will handles the freezing rain, so more to come. The deliver from AutoAnything was great, and customer service was very friendly!"

Not so easy instalation

Posted on 12/13/2007 by David S. - 2006 Chevy Silverado (Battle Mountain,NV)

8 of 8 people found the following review helpful.

"It looks simple to install. It wasn't. I put the shims where the instructions said to place them. The rear latches wouldn't close. I tried to put the shims on the bottom, and got the same result. Italked to the owner of the company (Ivan). A seemingly nice man that tried to help me in every way that he could. Still didn't work. On the third day and help from one of mh friends, we figured out that there shouldn't be any rear shims. We took the rear shims off, and it worked perfect. They need more explicit instructions with better pictures. Technical support was great. Very courteous and helpful. Thanks Ivan very much for your help. "This is the best designed and most functional bed cover of any of the dozens we looked at for our Honda Ridgline. Installation with 2 people was less than 25 minutes, start to finish, with a perfect, weather-proof fit the first time! We were missing one bolt from the package, due to a torn box during shipping. Service from AutoAnything has been terrific and a replacement bolt was sent upon request! I'd gladly give this 5 stars, except that the instructions for installation for the Honda are not clear as included with the cover, even though it does refer you to a web site which is more complete. If only full instructions were included, we wouldn't have wasted any time or money. Still, highly recommended."

BAKflip is lightweight and very east to install

Posted on 12/06/2007 by Kenneth S A. - 2006 Ford F150 (San Antonio,TX)

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful.

"Like the title says, it's light weight and easy to install. Upon delivery, I had it installed on my F150 in less than 20 minutes. The hardest part was trying to figure out where to put the shims on the cover rails(shims required for use on my model). Once the cover rails were installed (3 clamps per rail to attach each rail to each side of the bed) the cover sets into place easily and is easily adjusted to ensure it is placed on the bed properly to be secured using the two bolts. Once the two attachment bolts are set, the cover unfolds and attaches. The cover does not come with a lock, which is not necessary with a locking tailgate cover. When closing the cover, the tailgate has to be closed before the last section of the cover can be secured. Also, I wish this cover were more heavy duty, but it is still a great bed cover."

2004 Dodge Bakflip in Alaska

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.

"I installed the Bakflip on my 2004 Dodge 1500 Quadcab and am extremely happy with the results. It has been in -21F weather and performed flawlessly. Installation is a breeze and watching the online video before installing is very useful. The latching panels are very conveniently placed and offer versitile cargo loading options. Before this winter is done in Alaska, I'll be checking for full functionality at -50F and colder. At this point, I rate the cover as exceeded all my expectations and worth every penny spent."
