BAK RollBAK G2 Tonneau Cover Part #R15406 Customer Reviews

To start I find it hard to believe that proper instructions have not been included despite all of the reviews. The cover looks great but have wondered how long will it be before the spring tension in the canister goes bad. Definitely something to consider but in all, the cover is heavy duty and does give the truck a different appearance. I have come to realize that lubrication is a must if you plan to get a descent amount of life out of it. I would recommend it to anyone. Its a good product.

Unit functions well and should last. The installation was easy because I watched all the you tube vids. Hint, drill for your drain tubes before you mount the canister, or you may need an angle drill. My bed is fiberglass, so I drilled in the Side walls of the wheel wells for a clean high exit. The unit does leak a bit from the side rails, but not really much of an issue. Most of the water enters when the truck is parked. When going down the highway the water does not have a chance to get inside. The powder coat is heavy and well done. Many of the component parts are obviously hand cut and a little rough, but they all hide. Hint mount everything tight to the front of the bed and check tailgate fit. I had to do some notching of the rails as they were too long. Paint the canister safety bar before you mount it or you will see shiny aluminum when the unit is open. Purchased a pop n lock to secure tailgate, it works but is cheap. The entire installation is clean, stout and uncluttered which should deter thieves.

Great looking, real functionality, security and material construction are what make me get this product. There are more products in the market with similar characteristics but they cost a little more. One feature that got my attention beside the lower price compared to the others is that this cover do not use an external locking or opening mechanism it open from the inside only so if your truck has the mean to lock the tail gate that make it safe to secure items in the back of the truck and you do not need any additional key. In my case my truck do not have a locking tail gate so I got a power lock & pop mechanism that installed my self and operate with the keyless system of my truck no additional key and it work beautiful. Over all I am happy with this product only one little problem with the shipping it took approximately 4 week to get it directly from the fabricant I guess autoanything do not stocked this product or they ran out of it. Even so, I highly recommend this product over the competition.

Not happy with the instructions. You might want to read it all before starting because it's not in sequence. Intructions you get and what you view on the web are not all the same. There were some weather strippings and felt that were not on the instructions on where to install it, it's left to your imagination. The top cap could be better installed other than two self tapping screws on each side exposed. When it rains water seeps in in various gaps. On my Tacoma I had to cut both ends of the tailgate cap provided for me to close the tailgate. I also did not get the free door sill. With the cost of this item it should be better.

I consider myself to be pretty handy with tools, and I am an avid model builder so i'm pretty good at deciphering the most vague guide. However this cover, which I purchased for my 2005 tacoma was a real test! Some parts where not even in the book!Track on drivers side gave me a lot of problems, no matter what I tried Icould not get it to lay flat (twisted?)I finally removed the spacers on the bottom edge to get it on but this lifted it up off the bed rails so if you are looking for water tight this isn't the cover for you.Over all the finished product looks pretty good.Somebody needs to do something about those instuctions or they are going to get alot of returns.Overall its a pretty good tonneau for the money.

It took a lot longer to install than advertised. Also, some parts needed for installation were not included, such as self tapping screws. Instructions are extremely vague. It would not take much effort on Rollbak's behalf to be more specific with their instructions for varying truck models. In addition I did not receive the free gift promised with my purchase.

Slick cover. But installation took like 8 hours because the instructions stunk. Who would of thought? But its on perfect now and i love it, keeps my golf clubs dry and secure.
