Once I managed to work up the courage to start, this is one of the easiest installs I have attempted. The most difficult part was wrestling the container with the cover into the bed of my truck by myself. Don't be macho, get a friend to help lift it into place. Other than that, it was a very simple install.

I think Murphy's Law came with my tonneau. I had every difficulty that has been mentioned by other reviewers. Felt is coming off on hot days, the unit is so heavy, it is sagging the brackets and I am having custom supports welded, cover comes open on dirt roads, does not retract because it won't stay aligned. Instructions are minimal at best. Watch every video you can to get better installation instructions if you buy this item.

It's cheap looking and hard to use. The locking (unlocking) mechanism is very flimsy and will not last very long under normal use. Bottom line: you get what you pay for.

It did not install as easy as the RollnLock top I installed on my last truck. The clamps we difficult to tighten without them turning. I had to trim the mounting brackets in order for the top to fit. I like the fact that I can open the tailgate without opening the top. I also like the powder coated top rather than the vinyl covered top on the last product I purchased.

The installation instructions were vague with respect to the cover install over the roll up section at head of bed. Old design plastic, this one was metal made from slats. Looked nice but the brackets attach to outside of cover; a revised photo in box but brackets in dark shadow of picture so not much help. Extra gasket in box; for what; I used it on top of bed behind cab because the integrated seal in the cover lid did not contact the bed. This closed the gap. Don't install the side rails too far forward or once installed the retractable cover seal will never be able to contact the tailgate. Instructions say 1/8 from tailgate; I would say everything but touching. I adjusted the latch stops and was able to get the seal in contact with gate. Three positional stops already inserted in the rails; one for at gate and two mid; more came in a bag. Not mentioned in instructions. The finish of the cover is great, it works great. Only water I have seen after rain is from bottom of my tailgate; plan to add seal. No regrets and looks great on my truck. Keep in mind, only way to open cover is to open tailgate first. Bob in OKC

I installed my RollBAK G2 by myself in about an hour. I recommend watching a couple of YouTube G2 installation videos prior to starting your install. I cannot comment on whether it is waterproof at this point because we have not had any rain since I installed it. The G2 looks great and operates as advertised. I have had it installed for less than a month but at this point, I highly recommend the product.
