I purchased a PE cover for my 2006 Chevy Silverado the first time in April of 2006. I had someone install it for me since I had heard so many problems with the instructions and everything. The product worked well and after 114,000 miles on the truck and someone trying to break into it I ended up replacing the cover. Along the 6 years the cord to pull the cover closed broke, the lock broke, 2 panels of aluminum broke, however the cover did perform well for what I wanted which was simply a cover for my truck bed. This time I had my son help me with the install as he was in state visiting for a few short days. We opened the package and the rails had dents in them and scratches. I had removed the old cover earlier that morning and that part was a breeze! The new cover instructions were a bit sketchy and we ended up taking the cover on and off a couple of times to get it done right. Finally we tried to close the cover and it would not close! I called PE, they told me the only solution was to remove the cover and feed the fabric into the track then re-install the entire process again. I had an issue with the old cover a couple of months ago slipping into the canister, so I used a piece of 7/16th waferboard to slip past into the canister and press up slightly allowing the cover clearance to feed onto the track. This worked and saved us at least 2 hours of work! The product is great, but please improve the instructions! A video of the install would be very helpful!

A real keeper.

This is my second retractable tonneau. Sold the last one with the truck and my newer truck now has the new tonneau. The quality of the newest one is even better than my first. Better lock and weatherstrips. Installation takes a little while but well worth it.

Great Product

I recommend this cover to anyone who needs to open and close their cover during snow season. It just works. My only issue is that it doesn't lay as flat on the bed sides as I would like. I am open to suggestions on how to remedy this. More clamps might help. I like the new lock cover. Great idea. This is my third cover of this kind. I am sure the price scares people away but I would not suggest cutting corners to make it cheaper. The directions were adequate but as a guy more pictures always helps. Thanks for listening, Bob

the other reviews are true, i watched with video several times before beginning installation. I wish it was that simple as the video shows. I am mechanically inclined and still had problems with assistant from a buddy and daughter. Still have to do some tweaking on the rails but think I'll get it.

works good if you real watch what you are doing

as far as putting it on it was easy by reading the directions, but when i put on the cover to the canister it made the cover not want to roll freely by its self. what it did was torque the side down on the inside of the box and make them kinda sag. A minor adjustment and it works great when no snow and ice is on it DUH!

My review is exellent this cover is awsome.
